It's probably no better or worse than conventionally farmed foods, or even gmo foods. But in regards to the genetically modified foods, those are all 'roundup ready.' The use of roundup herbicide is almost certainly detrimental to the soil, water, and is resulting in the evolution of resistant weeds, causing gmo farmers to just use more roundup.
The biotech corporations aren't exactly known for good behavior. One doesn't need to purchase organic to avoid profiting biotech. Conventional crops are the middle ground, and should be good enough for everyone.
