I read in Yahoo News yesterday where outlets such as Burger King and other venues of that ilk were being removed from the US Air base in Kandahar. The reason cited was that it was a distraction from the mission there. I'm not arguing one way or another on that BUT it seems to be to be a bit ludicrous considering the fact that Canadian Forces are held to rations of two beer per month while the American Forces have access to alcohol and it is not rationed. I should think a "comfort" burger once in awhile as a break from rations is preferable to distracting oneself from the mission with alcohol. I'd laugh at the lack of logic but I find nothing funny about North America's young men and women having to do what they have to do over there.
