Mike Adams of Natural News has interviewed James Stewart, a 65-year old organic farmer, after he was put in a California jail and tortured in many ways. Mike Adams asks us to copy, share and distribute this material.

Basically, if we don't act now, our human, civil and constitutional rights will continue to be whittled away until we have none left.

Branded with a red arm band, severe food and sleep deprivation, shackled, and suffered hypothermia. His cell was then flooded with raw human sewage, which flowed into his jail cell 2-3 inches deep, covering his shoes and shirt. LA County jail guards then ordered James to clean up all the raw sewage in his cell by handing him a small hand-held squeegee and demanding that he squeegee out all the raw sewage himself (which he reluctantly did). He was then forced to stay in the putrid raw sewage cell for over 30 hours, fighting off nausea and living in bacteriological filth that threatened his health. During this entire process, James was not allowed a single phone call nor any visit from an attorney. His right to speak to an attorney was repeatedly denied.  At no point was James notified of what he was being charged with. He was never presented with an arrest warrant nor were any charges explained to him. James was mysteriously "lost" in the system and LA County officials claimed they did not know where he was. This was apparently a deliberate attempt to subject an individual to drawn-out torture without legal representation and make sure no one could locate them to check on their health or arrest status

I can't believe no one has commented on this important issue. The most amazing thing about this story that has reached all around the globe to every country from the USA to China and India and Africa, but you do not see or hear a peep on any official US state or national news outlet. Why?

Can this information be confirmed? Where are witnesses? Who is doing some investigative reporting?

      Shame.

I hadn't heard about this before now.  Am wondering if it's really true?  I just can't imagine how the authorities could get by with treating someone that way.

But I do recall hearing a few weeks ago that there's a push for legislation that will decriminalize the sale of raw milk, as long as it's labeled and buyers know the risk they're taking.   I love raw cow's milk, grew up when it wasn't illegal to buy it.  Or at least I don't reckon it was illegal.  We often bought milk from our neighbors etc. who were farmers....
But I do now prefer to know that the milk I buy has been processed with pasteurization, etc., considering the possible health risks otherwise.

I have had people tell me this type of treatment could not be possible in America. However, if you listen to the audio and YouTube of the interview, the indications from James imply the others who were locked up in jail with him could corroborate the facts.

There had to be witnesses. I simply can't understand how they can keep this under cover; or that Mike Adams would risk his high rated reputation on any type of lie or falsification.

Mike Adams of Natural News, a leading freedom fighter for organic farming and many other issues of health safety would not push his limits if he did not have solid facts, in my opinion. But, as this plays out, we shall see.

The point of this whole exploding story concerns the 'raw' milk safety and control issue. Should government, under the guise of protecting the citizens force people to purchase and have only homogenized, pasteurized dairy milk and products when humans have had fresh raw milk, cream and cheese to eat for millennia?

How had everything suddenly changed and quite incidentally the epidemic of toxic bacteria in our food supply has gotten much worse and not better since production has utilized all of these new technologies.

I must also say that the fresh products directly from the well treated animals tastes like a totally different food substance that has full bodied rich flavor and contains all the special and important bacteria needed to enhance our digestive systems.

          Blessings, Debby

That is horrible! If Lindsay Lohan went through that you can bet your bippy she would not be in and out of jail. Nobody should have to succumb to that type of treatment.

All I can say is that being non-American, I have no vote nor say in what has happened here.
It is one of those horror stories we, the public, get to hear about after it has happened, and had no idea it was going on.
Where did the sewage come from? Did a pipe burst? Is it fixed? Are new detainees in this jail having to put up with the same?
I find it hard to believe that law enforcement officers in the US would use this as a sort of mental torment, and also find it hard to believe that any western nation wouldn't have moved him to a place of safety.
What was he jailed for? For milking cows and not pasteurising the milk? Did anyone die? Can anyone confirm he was even arrested?

Sorry haven't looked at the video (it would take half an hour to load at my current connection speed) but something doesn't ring true.

Are you sure he wasn't arrested for something else? I can think of a lot of things I would give this sort of treatment for, but not for milking cows.

Izzy ~ you may read all about it here on Natural News.
      http://www.naturalnews.com/035208_James … _jail.html

Jails in America do not all provide good treatment and facilities to the inmates. Most states going bankrupt cannot handle the number of criminals and let many back out on the streets.

The legislatures have cut back on funding to provide adequate staff or anything else. Many jails are overcrowded, while others are closing and in disrepair.

The story says that James was not even told why he was put into jail or what laws he broke. The point to make him a target so others would not attempt to sell raw milk to the people and run them out of the business.

James was not given the standard rights to phone a lawyer or anything else based on this interview report.

Selling unpasteurized milk is illegal everywhere I know of.

Having said that, though, I can't imagine being found selling it and being arrested.  The 10th time maybe, but not the first or even second.

As always happens, it looks to me like there is a lot more here than has been said.

Wilderness! This is just what you "think", because you don't know. In Germany, for example, unpasteurized and really raw milk is sold under the name of "Vorzugsmilch" and everybody can buy it. It is obviously more expensive.

The whole idea of selling pasteurized and UHT milk is to prolong shelf-life, NOT to give any human healthy food. Raw milk is still food, but the rest is just junk food that clogs your system.

I am disgusted with even the idea that something like the above story may or may not be true. It most likely is and gets hushed up.

Unless people start growing their own food, the industrial food suppliers will carry on cheating and overpricing and throwing people into prison for not complying with their ridiculous laws that protect them, not the public.

Wilderness, it is only completely illegal to sell real milk (a.k.a. "raw" milk) in 13 states.  In most states people can "lease" a cow so that they  have some ownership interest in it and then pay for the "processing" of the milk to the dairy man.  In my area, it's $25 p/year for the lease and then $7.50 p/gallon to have your own milk processed and delivered to your home from the other side of the state.  Many other states are the same way.  Some, like Georgia, allow raw milk to be sold as "pet food".  People will buy it for their "pets" anyway.

The crazy thing about his particular story is that in California (where the Rawesome thing went down) it's 100% legal to sell raw milk in your local grocery store much less right on the farm.  This is the third (maybe fourth) time that the FDA has attacked this one particular seller in California.  Both previous times they were told that the Rawesome people could go back to their business, but he FDA keeps wating money plotting STING OPERATIONS against the same people.  It's a form of domestic terrorism.  The FDA obviously hates this company and wants to drive them out of business by dragging them through lengthy and expensive legal processes until they run out of money.  It's not likely that the FDA will run out of money for litigation.

Additional information I just learned that Mike Adams will contact Amnesty International and the ACLU.

Would you imagine it possible for him to get these highly reputable agencies involved if he did not have some substantiating evidence to prove the case of James' unlawful treatment in jail?

"NaturalNews calls on Amnesty International, ACLU to intervene
What we are witnessing here is a gross violation of civil rights and human rights, not to mention fundamental due process. The treatment unleashed upon James was not merely against the law in California, it was also a violation of federal law and a violation of the Geneva Convention and its ban on torturing prisoners of war."

These strong words on the website in a state one would consider New Age and to protect the rights and freedoms of people who do not typically follow the mainstream views on most issues.

It appears James bail was for $1 million simply for selling raw milk. Do you consider this exorbitant and out of the ordinary? James Stewart has no criminal record and is a permaculture farmer and fresh food advocate.

Assistance efforts for James Stewart and Sharon Palmer, the other person arrested in this case, can be emailed to: friendsofhealthyfamilyfarms@gmail.com

To learn more Mike Adams will be on a national radio program on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 1pm Eastern time, 10am Pacific, on the Robert Scott Bell Show.

    Listen in at: www.GCNlive.com

In addition, NaturalNews has forwarded details to producers of the Alex Jones Show with the hope that Alex Jones will want to cover this for his own audience (www.InfoWars.com).

Information is also being forwarded to the Ron Paul campaign, as Ron Paul has openly spoken out against the absurdity of laws targeting raw milk producers. As Paul is extremely busy running for President, however, he is unlikely to be able to comment on this particular issue.

Tips have been forwarded to Matt Drudge for his consideration of the issue.

NaturalNews.com continues to be the breaking news source on this story with a voice of liberty and food freedom. Check NaturalNews.com for more details this weekend and all next week.

Sounds like an all out war ahead. I just hope freedom and justice for all win this battle. Bedouins have been milking their herds peacefully for generations upon generations without ill effects. Why can't small organic farmers do the same to provide fresh, healthy milk for children who typically experience allergic reactions to processed milk that sits in vats for who knows how long and contains all sorts of preservative treatments?

That is quite strange, Melindas. I have never come across this barrier. Have you clicked to http://naturalnews.com/

It appears that not only is Hubpages undergoing many website restructuring, which I have recently written about, but Natural News has a brand new design. I suggest you try to visit again tomorrow.

I am also quite cautious now regarding the fact that this is the only source of information.

However, we have had many situations historically when only "ONE" person had the connection to uncover a conspiracy or covert operation by government, industry, political organizations, etc.

        We're all waiting now...

Update on James Stewart who was jailed for selling raw milk.

    1) As Mike Adams of Natural News gathers more data, it will be another week before we hear a new report

    2) David Gumpert of The Complete Patient blogs on the issue and receives many comments and opinions. Take it all with a grain of salt as we learn the that no one wants to go to the L.A. jails, everyone has their own concept of torture, and what about 'innocent' until proven guilty. Is this whole episode hype or do we need to take a stand? http://www.thecompletepatient.com/archive/201203

    3) In my own state of North Carolina, it is against the law to buy and sell raw milk and making just about impossible to do so. Do people have a right to get raw milk from a local organic farmer? Can the farmer give away free samples? Gee whizz, pharmacies give away drugs that can kill every day of the week. Milk? please. Talk of the absurdity of raw milk prohibition at The Bovine Press http://thebovine.wordpress.com/2012/03/ … ohibition/

I fully believe there are plenty of shady things going on that we don't EVER get to hear about...and I know the Holy Dollar Rules Ok, and there are a lot of vested interests.....nevertheless I still find this hard to believe.....I have read naturalnews often...some of the articles are very good and informative- others are utterly sensationalised and skewed. It's a tough one, I will be honest. That one farmer threatens the multiBILLION dollar interests of the (despicable) dairy industry is a long stretch- though like others have said- I believe anything COULD be true...but not simply because I have read it.

    1. girlgonestrong profile image61
girlgonestrongposted 12 years agoin reply to this

It is also the reason why milk is the #2 product which induces food-allergy symptoms.  Only wheat is worse.

Since you mentioned listeria, why is it that cantaloupe are not being outlawed and the farmer growing them not being harassed like this raw milk guy is?  After all, how many confirmed deaths do we have on record related to the consumption of raw milk?  The number is close to zero.  The thirty listeria deaths last year (the largest number of deaths in a food borne illness episode since the CDC started tracking the data back in the 1970's) should have cantaloupe farms getting the bulk of the FDA's attention.  The fact that raw milk continues to be the focus of the FDA's harassment endeavors is more evidence that they have it out for raw dairy.

If you think that's far-fetched, consider the fact that most people have to go buy milk more than once per week.  Most grocery stores hide it in the back corner so the chances of you picking up something extra either on your way to grab the milk or on the way back to the check-out is very high.  Big Grocery doesn't want you buying milk at the local farm.  Heck, if you buy milk there you might just start buying farm-fresh eggs and cheese there.  Then you might buy some same-day-as-slaughtered fresh chicken and who knows...a year or two down the line you might be putting in an order to buy a whole cow at discount instead of buying meat the expensive way, pack-by-pack at the grocery store.

Big Pharma, Big Agra, Big Grocery, and Big Dairy all have a lot of reasons to do whatever they need to do behind the scenes to get Raw Milk sales rubbed out completely in this country.  Don't kid yourself by believing the line that they've sold this nation on about how raw milk is dangerous.  Cantaloupe has proven to be dangerous - real milk has not.  The stats say that over 2 MILLION people drink raw milk every week.  That's a reasonable number considering that farmers drink their own milk fresh all the time instead of buying it from the store.  They're not afraid of the milk.  The rest is consumed by the large natural-foods movement spearheaded by the Weston A. Price foundation.  If so many people are drinking this stuff so consistently and it's so dangerous, how come we are not hearing about someone dying from this every other day?  Probably because it's as safe as eating anything else.

If you're ready to question the lies that you've been told about raw milk by the powers-that-be since you were a child want to learn the truth about real milk be sure to visit http://www.RealMilk.com/ and read everything there.  Then tell everyone you know the truth.

This sort of story reminds me of the 'wild west' stories of rich ranchers trying to oust the poor farmer for land expansion. Sad that it sounds like it's still going on. I would think the ones wearing the badge and abusing their powers, if true, should be the ones arrested and sent to jail along with huge bonds and fines attached yikes Shocking that such things occur in this day and age too. It would not surprise me though, since such ill treatment towards activists and politicians has occurred and is in history books. It would be even better if the guy in jail, had a medical done to check and monitor for any ill effects whether current or upcoming. That could prove damaging too.
