Cant you change or bend the rules in the Political and Religious forums. I'm getting banned pratically every other day.

How in the world can you have a nice sweet and kind debate about Obama or Jesus.

Shouldn't you use some common sense when considering banning someone? Do you look at the possible provocation that lead up to the "personal attack"?  People should not have to worry about censorship when their political or riligious beliefs or lack of them are attacked in the most vicious ways here on hupbages by people that are never banned.

The rules should be different for these two subjects. If I call somebody a name because of their Pie Recipe; I should be banned. Either way I love Hubpages and thank you for not throwing me off completely.

I have to use this cute Little White Boy to speak for me most of the time lately.

    Friendlyword

I don't know the specifics of your ban, but the length of a ban isn't determined strictly by a schedule.  The moderators can and should use their discretion to either reduce or enhance the prescribed ban based on particular circumstance.  If you want clarification the best way to get it would be to contact us by email.

It's unfortunate that your first one would go for so long. A 24 time out would suffice, though 2 weeks after the fact it's not like you continued your tirade and needed to cool off.

vBulletin has a good system of keeping track of violations. Mods can give out 'red cards' which the user is aware of in their User Control Panel. Each card is worth points, and when x amount of points are accrued they'll get suspended. And they'll know how close they are to getting a temporary suspension. Warnings can be given too, worth 0 points, its like having a small slap on the hand.

At least with that system it keeps track automatically, rather than people having to try and remember who the continual offenders are.

I think though, if you had used the same words in a report of the other persons offending post that the result would have been different. And justice would have arrived two weeks earlier to the one that deserved it.

I believe the bans start at 3 days and if you continue they can increase in duration up to 30 days - and then perhaps a permanent ban.

Can't help you on the rest.

I wouldn't post here if I received the answer by email. I emailed three times. Jason was not familiar with the case, "team" answered a couple of days later with the standard answer repeating the message on the site, and Maddie did not answer yet...
