ok, i'm hoping u guys can help me...i want to submit some of the pieces i've written and published on hubpages to magazines and such. are there any rules or info. i should know about before i do this? any input would be greatly appreciated.
You can delete your articles from HubPages any time you like, so there should be no conflict submitting them to magazines. You should disclose they've been published online before, though.
I would agree with Pearldiver - you have some nice evocative language in your stories, but it's mixed in with some clunky stuff, too. You're still learning your craft so that shouldn't come as a surprise.
I'm thinking maybe you should seek out someone like Lynda Martin:

She's a published writer and I know she has done some mentoring, maybe she could offer you some advice.
'The Rule' that you should consider is one that you should set yourself BEFORE you decide to promote your work to such parties: Improve the Quality of your Work to having each hub achieve at least a hubscore of 75 or above.
If I was looking at your work objectively and for consideration for market entry; Then I would have to say that currently your work is of average quality yet certainly could be improved upon if you take the time and effort to enhance it in that respect.
Find your writing style.. that is what sets you apart from the average and gives you an edge in terms of acceptance of your work by potential employers.
Don't be too lazy to ensure that you don't take shortcuts with your grammer. Once again, poor grammer puts you back into the 'average' or below - if viewed by an editor.
You are studying English Lit. what have you learnt?
Have a look at how I write (by comparison) as I have no formal writing training, study or mentors. Look at the subject matter and consider how you would write that article if you were competing against mine. That is what it comes down to today - your ability to compete above the other guy. See how you go on this! Good Luck.... You should exceed my efforts easily if you have an educational edge.
thank you both for your honest and valuable advice. i will continue to work on my skills before i submit anything (i am only a first year college student) and you are very right-i am still finding my literary style.

So my first article has been published on HubPages network site- Turbo Future. I had never expected this. This is for those who feel lost here. We never know what happens! Just keep going!

I have two new followers recently and neither has anything published on hubpages. How do I find outI have recently gotten two followers that have no published content on Hubpages. How do I get them to unfollow me?

Are pieces "published" on Hubpages really published?Could I send the pieces I publish on Hubpages to literary journals that do not accept pieces that have been previously published before?

I've noticed that when it comes to traffic, my hubs on network sites (ex. turbofuture, pairedlife) perform a lot better than my hubs on hubpages.com. I'm just wondering if there are certain ways we can do to increase the views for these hubs other than just sharing them on social media. I'm asking...
