   With infestations on the rise, Please share advice and tips on how to get rid of these pests.
   
   What your theory on why bedbug infestations are getting so out of hands these days?

   Spider,
   I don't know why these infestations are on the rise.  But it's worrisome.
   
   Some tips I heard for prevention:
   
   When staying at any hotel, place your luggage on those foldable stands wherever possible.  Also it might help to put your luggage in a large plastic bag before you go to sleep.
   
   I am also re-thinking the idea that I will ever take a used mattress or upholstered sofa into my house, even if offered the item for free.

   I read a news item horror story about this awhile back. Someone bought a used solid wood night table. Yep, bedbugs were in it (it only takes one). Article reported that it cost the couple $3,000 to finally rid their house of the critters.
   
   To me, the moral of the story is:
   
   If you acquire anything that has the possibility of having insects in it, stick the thing in a large plastic trash bag with a bug bomb for 24 hours first. Do this outside of course.
   
   Another thought; if the item you transported does have bedbugs, then so does your car now.

   Hell... Burn Him too that is the pits!
   Don't you just hate the way things jump from bed to bed these days?
   
   Lucky you aren't 350 lbs... can you imagine the places they'd hide
   
   What does the bible say about bedbugs and pestulance?????
   I guess you could hit them with it

      Never-ever-ever bring home old pieces of furniture, especially soft ones. Sofa, mattress. If you get them(bugs) - it's almost impossible to get rid of. And they actually bite you! And they multiply with tremendous speed. My friend had it and it took her 2 years to get rid of them. She was giving  away(after that) her $800 mattress and I said no, thank you. I do not even want a chance. All you need is just a couple of bugs and you will have a nice happy and huge family of bugs! Old buildings, old furniture, lack of total renovations and overcrowdiness if you may say so breed that problem. My friend's husband loved to collect old vintage clothings from garage sales and markets and that's how they got it. May be, it's just my theory. Well, finally my friend's apartment bugs free and husband's free(she got rid of him as well, but that's another story).
