Pre-published Hub Score

   I take a few days to complete a hub. I notice that the hub score can go up and down prior to publishing. I understand the score is mostly related to traffic. How can the score vary when there is no traffic? I've had one pre-published hub go down to a score of 46 while another pre-published hub increased a lot. How does that work?

      I have noticed that if you take up a url and work on the hub for some time your scores go down as the traffic is non existent. It increases as you edit and put in more information or pictures I have noticed.
      The best thing would be to get your matter  and  pictures ready and then quickly publish the hub! This works for me!! Best wishes to you!

         Ahhh, that makes sense. I was wondering about this as well, as I've seen my overall Hubscore go down over the past 24 hours along with the Hubscore on an individual hub that I started but didn't finish and have not published. I guess this could be seen as a penalty for "reserving the URL" while not building on it.

      There are too many factors to really answer this..Your best bet is to just contact the HP staff directly, in the long term though it's the readers that will make or break your score by voting, rating, commenting etc.

   A lot of factors go in to Hubscore, not just traffic.
   
   Even things like keywords can have an effect, I have noteiced that I can create some hubs but nt do anyhing with them, not even create a block of text, leave them unpublished, and some will rank in the 60's others in the 40's.
   
   In teh end though, it doesn't matter!

   I've always found that spelling or grammar related errors in a pre-published hub will sink your score. I always try to proof it if I'm below a 50 before publishing a hub.

   I do not know how it works or why but sometimes an unpublished hub of mine has seemed to benefit (if the starting hubscore makes any difference) by not being published straight away as the score rises, now and again the score drops but less often. As you work on it it counts as 'views'.
   
   At the moment I have one unpublished hub that is below 50 and another that is at a just below 70.
   
   To me what they start at when I publish them does not really bother me. When I only had a few hubs I used to notice if the hubscores altered - I only notice now if they are doing really well or badly. I tend to look for the red arrows and blue as a rough guide.
