   What do you consider to be the most significant changes that have happened in the United States since the 9/11 attacks?

      Interesting. Looks like you beat me to the punch. I just asked this question in the Q&A section.
      
      We've entered two wars in the Middle East. We've degraded our privacy. We've entered a horrible recession.
      
      In short, labor pains to a new world order. What that order will be, depends largely on us. If money is power, than the majority still has the most consumer leverage.
      
      I guess my answer is, since 9/11, we've learnt that the old system doesn't work. What shall replace it? Those conversations need to begin now, before we get side-swiped from a plan without debate.

            China Man,
            
            Financially speaking, China will be the one with the most power—but America still has the best military... and we're not going to submit to an international authority unless we've plenty or representation. Just look at our reaction to the International Criminal Court.
            
            The U.S. is as weak as it was before the war of 1812. Something tells me China, Russia, India, and Brazil know this.
            
            Anyway, 9/11 was a wakeup call. Do we need an Earth Police Force? Do we need constant surveillance (through an identification/credit card) to stop the "bad guys"? Or would an end to world hunger, war, and poverty (through global socialism) end terrorism more effectively?
            
            It's a fun conversation to have. Either way, we've got to talk about it before it's an emergency like the BP oil spill. Let's see some NWO ideas.

            If you ask me, a decentralized, democratic, libertarian system (like Libracracy) is generations away from happening. In the meantime, countries need to learn how to coexist.

                  That's already happening.
                  
                  Socialism is helping the poor. If it doesn't accomplish that, then it's not true socialism. For example, Stalin and Hitler both espoused Marxist "Equality" by attempting to ensure it by genocide. It sounds stupid, but, yeah, it happened in history already.
                  
                  Clearly, the definition of socialism needs to be reworked, because neither the current system nor previous systems end the death of hundreds of millions (and, through the span of history, billions) of deaths due to starvation.
                  
                  I think we should all be talking about what we'd do to fix this problem. None of us will be correct. But all of us, after overlapping our good ideas, can come up with an answer. This is the beauty of a pluralist, libertarian democracy.
                  
                  Why else did God give us mind, tongues, and free will?

   Tyrant government.
   
   Heavy intrusion into people's lives.
   
   Unnecessary security personnel, pretending their work is worth the safety which costs personal freedom.
   
   Invasion of rights.
   
   Unjustified military expenditures.
   
   More government agencies doing what other agencies failed to do, yet both agencies still exist.
   
   New laws restricting life.
   
   Too much BULLSH!T! Period!

   From outside - it would appear that attack  has given impetus to increased ferocity from the christian right, given you Bush for two terms, enough time to impale your foreign policy on Islam.  It has given you Homeland Security that is a shade of the SS along with a new kind of Mcarthyism. It has caused you to be withdrawn and lacking confidence. It has exposed you to your failing economic situation and put you at risk of a catastrophic collapse.
   
   So the attack did exactly what was intended by its perpetrators.  It is a shame that the US did not rise above the actions and keep a cool head and won back its International respect through peaceful actions.

   Since 9/11 the USA has gotten into two wars and there has been one really big financial crisis. The 1980s notion that greed is good has been proven to be hazardous to say the least.
   
   Since 9/11 there has been an increase in migrant activity out of Africa, parts of the Middle East, etc. The countries being flooded with migrants such as Great Britain and Australia simply cannot cope. Lack of fresh water has become a chronic problem in Australia yet we are still flooded with migrants.There is a shortage of land upon which to grow food in Australia yet we are still flooded with migrants. Political correctness idiots have built this trap and hopefully are beginning to see their own folly.
   
   Since 9/11 there has been a general lack of forward planning by the Western World when it comes to getting people in Third World countries to live better lives in their Third World countries.
   
   Since 9/11 food prices in Australia have soured. There has been a lot of talk about using energy more responsibly but it has only been talk. When it isn't talk it comes down to hitting households with further expense but leaving the big polluters alone.
   
   Since 9/11 the Indonesians have repeatedly invaded Australian waters with illegal fishing boats and people smugglers.
   
   Since 9/11 the Japanese have continually done the wrong thing with their slaughter of whales.
   
   All up the world does not seem to be on the mend.

   The biggest changes?
   
   Loss of life, loss of freedom, expansion of government, horrendous monetary inflation, and a wrecked economy.
   
   Funny how ALL of those seem to go hand in hand.
   
   Also, it seems that all you need to do to get your bill passed through congress anymore is to simply say "it will help fight terrorists". One random guy with weird underwear who had 80 million chances to blow up a plane but failed each chance? -- "TERRORISM" and we now have porno scanners.
