Micky Dee wrote a well documented and extensively researched hub about the embellishment of America’s history from the beginnings to present days, revealing the perpetual lies and manipulation of the truth.
As sad as it is to demolish dreams of greatness and to stare reality in the face, I believe this to be a MUST read.

While reading this, please keep in mind that Micky is an ex-Marine who fought in Vietnam and was ready to give his life for his country.

Micky wrote this hub out of LOVE for his country and I am sure it broke his heart to say things he would have prefered to be different, more honest and less bloody.
Micky's life is ruled by truth and a duty to say it as it is, even if that hurts him and others.

An excellent hub, though I thought myself well-educated on the topic there were a few startling moments. I'm going to go research some of the facts myself, particularly regarding Mr. Jefferson.

    An excellent read!

Another book of interest is by Dee Brown: Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee. Not to be confused with the dramatic production of the same name, It documents the policies followed, and subsequent outcomes of those policies during the subjugation of the native american peoples during the "Taming of the West"

I think that it is very easy to go around, pee on your history, your society, your constitution whatever, to show everybody a finger and shout "I am for the poor", when you live in a still democratic country and no one will come and arrest you for "your opinion". And after you showed everybody your ... opinion, you can quietly go to a nice restaurant and order a nice dinner with steak and wine.
Obviously, that Micky Dee never was really poor in a poor country.
