    i pierce my lips shut
so as not to wake my life.
i close my eyes to see,
    and i breathe to exhale.
the clicking of my dwindled heart
    beats with a shadow.
shapes of words spill over my fingers,
a fumbled interpretation marks the page.
    Frustration engrosses me...

    loves twists and turns
    as i toss aside.
    faulting to my core
    i fumble for the floor
    looking amongst my ruins,
    i entertain an unrealistic result.

    tip toe along the edge,
as i flirt with the water
peer into the surface to test
    my restraint..
the hard chilling edge urges me onward...
i slide my feet into the murky water,
relish in the warm wrath of sin.
heated from inner out, i fall.
    sliding through the textured liquid,
    my heart burns
    and our lips meet.

    logic screaming to leave
    my body remains.
    parting my lips to speak,
    they could not move.
lifting my eyes to meet his
my heart, pounding, would assume just burst,
without the meager cage of guilt surrounding it.

finding the ledge leading to the other side,
    i calm my raging heart,
    adding a complacent smile
    and poised composure.
a smile to fool the world.
    smother the emotions
    that saturate me.
    sweetly, softly, i lie.
torn between the deuces of great wealth...
    dizzy among the storm.

i pierce my lips shut so as not to wake my life.
i close my eyes to see,
    and i breathe to exhale.
the clicking of my dwindled heart beats with a shadow.

Very nice ! I especially liked these lines:

a smile to fool the world.
    smother the emotions
    that saturate me.
    sweetly, softly, i lie.

The dual meaning of the word lie here struck me! Now something I wrote:

    Differences

    What makes us so different

    Yet draws us so near?

    Like gravity, the moon

    Pulls on the Earth and

    Earth's gravity pulls back.

The force is subtle and unseen,

    Yet strong enough to keep

Each in its place both separate

    Yet dependent on the other.

    Attraction!

    What makes us so different

    Yet drives us together?

Like the winds of the storm

    Swirling in circles powered

    By differences of pressure.

    Invisible and unfelt,

    Fueled by the sea.

It drives the water in waves

    Smashing against the shore.

    Desire!

    What makes us so different

    Yet compels us to touch?

    Like thunder clouds filled

    With negative charge.

    The land is positive, sure.

It holds us captive while clouds

    Hover above drifting on wind.

Each separate, but anxious to touch.

Then the lightning leaps the distance,

Sharp, and hard it fingers the land.

    Passion!

    What makes us so different

    Yet we are the same?

    Man with his muscular body,

    Designed to hide his insecurity.

    Confidently moving towards his mate.

    Woman with soft curves that

    Belies her strength, her power.

    Signals her acceptance.

    Her control complete,

    As bodies collide,

    And generate heat.

    Love!
