In recent news, the Academy is asking people to keep their acceptance speeches SHORT this year, in an effort to boost ratings and to keep from boring YOU the viewer to death.  According to the Academy's producers, every time a candidate wins and pulls out a list of thank yous, they lose anywhere from a 100 to thousands of viewers. Therefore, every candidate has been advised to keep their acceptance speeches straight and to the point. What are your thoughts on this?  Good idea?  Bad idea?  Or don't give a damn?  Please share your thoughts here.  oh and here's the link if you want to know the full story:

Numero Uno, to a notorious few, keep politics out of it. Thank those who made a direct contribution, but you can leave your first grade teacher out. "You know who you are.." has always kept my attention, and blathering on and on ad nauseum makes them sound like the village idiot.
