There is a mystery behind the constant disappearance of socks. There must be some kind of portal that opens up once you start the dryer, some kind of loose sock afterlife... Does anyone have any sock abduction theories?

If socks are an issue then why don't stores sell them singularly. You could just pop down and get a replacement.
