Where to now for Pakistan

   After the death of Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan the nation is at a crossroads once again. Will Pakistan stablise as a democracy in the future or will it remain rocked by radicalism and gripped by Shariah. What would be your perfect Pakistan.

      Interesting question really. Until the country and its citizens begin acting like grown people, I consider them a threat. Children with nuclear weapons is dangerous. I consider Shariah law to mandate a childlike mentality...archaic in its understanding of the world. This might sound harsh, but the rest of the world (I believe at least) feels like we are dealing with several countries run by angry little kids with weapons and armies...it is tough to have a serious debate with a child.

   Well said Texasbeta.. It is really childish to deal with terrorist countries like Pakistan whose rulers have no say in the destiny of their nation or its people.
   
   Unless Pakistan sheds its Pro-Chinese or Pro-American policy for depending on them for military aid only, all the countries having relations with it will one day be fooled. It should have its own policy of neutralism independent of other countries. The best way to exist with grace is to have cordial relations with its SAARC neighbours.

   I my opinion, I think it would be up to them, and I would require they tell me so...  Friend of Foe, which side of the fence please?  The proceed from there.
   
   Lets get to the truth for a change, so we can and they can act appropiately, open and honest about it, would be a nice change right now.

   Everything will be upto them as far as it does not affect its neighbours; when it affects others, it will be upto others....
   
   Friend, if Pakistan sheds its destructive policy dispensation. Foe, if it continues present policies.
   
   Every country has its own friends and foes. But no one can depend fully on others to take on its enemies. Pakistan depends entirely on China and America to fulfil its policy of dealing with India. They (US & China) have their own commitments and will never come all out to support Pakistan in case of trouble with India.
   
   (In 1971 December (3-17) war with India, Pakistan was fully expecting that some sort of help would come from either Pakistan or China till the closing hours on 16-12-1971.. But neither came to its rescue... some 90000 soldiers surrendered to India. This will be the case in any encounter in future also.)
   
   So, it is better to reassess their strategy of dealing with India and be self-reliant. If they cant, let them be friends with India.
