Actually he was fine with no other Plecostomus. However he did have 5 other goldfish around him. Now they are in the pond and he is alone.  I am thinking he needs a few friends. Right? And I was looking towards not having to maintain a fish tank. ha ha

However - to return to the thread !!   Surely the answer is to put old Pleccie in the pond, or get another one to keep it company ?

Unable to put pleco AKA Oscar in the pond. The pond gets too cold for a tropical fish. However, we did place 4 small guppies in with him and he seemed to perk up, or so we thought. Two days ago I woke up to find out he was suicidal. He was lying on the floor approx 6' away from the tank. Thinking he was certainly dead I went to pick him up and he moved scaring me to death. I went ahead and picked him up and placed him in the tank. He was so hard I was certain he was going to die on me. Much to my surprise it was only a few hours before he was back to his bottom cleaning duties. smile Now that is one tough sucker. lol Excuse the pun.
