Would there be a way to notify us of ALL comments and let us decide if they are spam or not? Just today I checked an older hub and noticed 2 comments...one 11 months ago and the other 10 months ago. The first had left a link to another website on the same subject and the second had simply left a wonderful comment. Further up, a HubPage writer had made a second comment that was simply sitting there ready to be approved. I had never been notified that it was there. Anyone else discovering things like this?
Just discovered another comment left 14 months ago on another hub that was labeled spam. Had no link in it. Crazy! It would be next to impossible to scan through hundreds of hubs and keep discovering these on our own if we are not notified. Only reason I found this one was because I am still going back in and completing summaries.
Yes. I was so ashamed because I didn't know they were there. I still replied to there comment, even after months and apologized for not finding it sooner. I believe those comments could have happened during the time when HP was having system issues and our comments were not showing up.
I suggested a icon that would show which hubs had comments on them in our list of hubs, but I don't know if they have the capability of doing it.
I've seen things like that too. It's odd/weird. I've traveled to some of my hubs and found comments on them which were labeled SPAM, but were not actually SPAM.
And, I agree it would be nice to be notified about these and the author allowed to make the decision on it based on contents. Some I have left and some I had deleted because they were not something to even be associated with the hub itself.
Perhaps the HubPage filters are set too high? I agree with you in that some of the ones I am finding have no possible reason to be labeled SPAM.
They might be labeled spam because the person commented a lot on a lot of hubs all in the same time period. I am not sure. I have found the same thing every now and then. Some have been spam, some haven't. It's likely a case of being over protective, with a slightly over sensitive filter.
I just wish that they could let us decide which is spam and which is not. That way we could respond to those who take the time to leave a comment in a more timely fashion.
i notcied this as well, but then I looked deeper and noticed sometimes that a) teh person was banned from hubpages-- so it was listed as spam, or b) it was something which was written then but could get us in trouble now....
I am glad to know that I am not the only one with this problem. I thought maybe I missed a comment or two during a time that I was working long hours and didn't have much time to spend on HP. (I am currently working long hours again due to starting our own business. Even though I was/am working, I have always tried to keep up with comments and responding back in a timely manner.)
I find it embarrassing to find a hub that had a comment, but I didn't know about it. I too apologize and leave a response.
It would be nice to have that choice. Hopefully this issue will get worked out. Thanks for bringing it up.

It's been about 24 hours now. You know when someone is in the middle of leaving a comment and you see this? After a while the comment/s appear ready for approval. Mine seems to be stuck.

It would be great if we received notification of new comments. I was reviewing my hubs today and found comments that I didn't know were there. This notification could be on the account page or, better yet, by email.

Are we supposed to get notification of comments that are classified as Spam? I only just noticed that we can now "delete forever" comments, so I went to the Comments section of my account and applied the "Denied" filter so I could delete them. I'd never used the...

My Notification tells me that my Hub has two "Unapproved Comments".Where are they? I have looked carefully through them - twice - and cannot see any that say unapproved.

If I post a comment on a hub and someone else posts a followup comment after me, does Hubpages send me an email notification? I do not seem to be getting such email notifications.
