What do YOU think the difference is between socialism vs communism?

   As A political historian I have debated this a lot in the classroom. I think there are four: 1. socio-democrcy 2. socialism 3. communism 4. Moaism/Stalinism. I am curious what, if any, differences you see. I am working on an academic essay and would like some opinions to insert.

      Without looking them up and taking my best guess:
      
      Socialism: Government spreading the wealth of a nation among all people regardless of where it comes from. Free market, aims toward no class distinction.
      
      Communism: Government dictating who is best suited to which job, giving a living wage and keeping the rest. Government owned market, creates low income working class and small elite class.

   Communism is like basic training in the military.
   Everyone lives, eats, sleeps does everything communally. That's why they are anti-communist.
   Socialism is like your libraries and parks. Anybody can use them and everybody who pays taxes contributes. That is called socialist democracy. When they are privately owned they can only be used by some by affordability. That is capitalist democracy.

   No. Marx said socialism would evolve from advanced capitalism, which could have happened had they not socialized capitlism in the fall of 2008. He also said the middle-class would vnish, it is. Thanks for the reply.

   Small capitalism is OK, like this site or restaurants. Corporate capitalism can be evil and
   is responsible for much of the state violence around the world. Corporate capitalism is all about them and how rich they can get. I like a mixed economy like this site, small capitalism and large socialism based on the benefit of all, like public roads. I have to be a socialist; I am
   on social security.

      That's why corporations (defined as having the same rights as the individual for purposes of courts) have been defined as psychopathic in nature.
