OK  so i finally had time to look around on my webmaster tools and found that 80 of my hubs had a 404 code, meaning they cannot be found by the Google Crawler.  When I click on one of my 80 hubs it does take me to a HP page stating 404 Page does not exist.  However when I click on my hub through my account, it shows up fine...

So might this be culprit affecting my views?  and if so what to do about it?  I did not see any answers on how to fix it?  Can anyone give me an idea?  thanks in advance..

Good work... that is an internal directive within the master C-panel - so it needs to be dealt with from the HP C-panel... VERY Interesting find I must say and it will certainly have something to do with reduced traffic!

The $64mil question though is - Over HOW MANY user accounts is this having a derogatory effect on? yikes

I certainly can't see them (such pages) NOT having Impressions on them can you?

    Ummm sad

Edit: Have you Manually reloaded one of these page URLs with the SEs again?
Out of interest and followed the bouncy ball? .. To what effect?

Thank You pearldiver for your reply..I have no idea about the panels you are speaking of.. But what you are basically saying is that there is nothing I can do on my end?  Should I contact Webmaster? There is some business about a site map..   I REALLY need to spend more time on the Google stuff and educate myself...

This is the first I've ever heard of such a thing.  I wonder does this type of thing happens often.  I've only been on HP for 10 months and have only written about 32 hubs.

I was waiting on someone replying to this, because I don't know my way around Google Webmasters Tools.

About 400 of my hubs have lost ALL their traffic.

    WTF?

I could understand it if they were all crap, but hey they are not, well some of them aren't.

They used to get good traffic too.

This can be for 100 different reasons none of which you can have a great deal of ability to input into solving MC.

What comes to mind is the way that Google has been dealing with sites like this throughout their entire set of alglo changes.

Mind You... I have also noticed that my Profile appears not to have been crawled for a very long time - and that (I'm Sure) has to do with the HP subdomain changes made!

I was suggesting that you reload (manually reload) one of those pages that you have identified and see what effect that has over the weekend. Just a thought.. it might trigger an avalanche views or merely a google + for your 404 big_smile

    Good Luck.

I have a bunch of these, too.  Clicking the column on the right (1 site, 2 sites, etc.) shows where the link is.

If I visit that location I can often find the link in question; it works every time.  I do see, however, that besearched dot com is a common site that produces these errors.

I also see that when google says it is a bad link, then that link goes to a 404 page.  If most of the url is being shown, HP will often offer the correct address in a link.

One of the ones I looked at was my own hub giving links to another.  It showed two links, one of which was in an RSS feed, and both worked fine.

Google often, but not always, shows an address that has been truncated - that is the end of the address is missing from 1 to 50 or more characters.

Is it possible that most if not all of these errors are nothing?  Maybe HP was down or slow when the link was tested, maybe the site providing it didn't get the complete information to the robot, things like this?
