Have you guys heard about this?  I'll post two links, one to the official Google blog and one to Matt Cutt's blog:

    http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2012/01/ … world.html

    http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/search-plus-your-world/

Personally, I think it's going to be great for the user, and sucks for the SEO.

I guess they started to roll this out yesterday.

Note: This idea isn't new and Google has been talking about this since before 2009 (they started actually working in this direction some time in '09).  What's new is the fact that Google is officially started to move the SERPS in this direction.

Well I for one am going to have it switched off permanently.

I use the Web to search for objective information and spend time assessing the reliability of the pages I retrieve. Already there is so much subjective, unsubstantiated stuff out there. The last thing I need is to have my search results polluted by even more of that! Just because I might be linked to someone does not mean I want to know what they said about topic X in their comments on a social media site. If I do want to know what they think, I am perfectly capable of asking them myself.

I like your style, WriteAngled.  I'm sure I'll be right there with you switching it off.

I think this will be a Search fiasco. I don't wanna know what my friends are searching for/tagged in. I see enough of that on Facebook.

I wonder how long we will have to wait for 'personalized' paid  ads to start appearing amongst the clutter.

OK, who wrote your one hub? It certainly wasn't you.

It looks like the hub was copied word for word from a hub created by billericky under the same title.

        http://billericky.hubpages.com

It's sad that HubPages can't implement an automated check to prevent exact duplicate hubs from ever being published in the first place.

Strange that her hub is still there. Her post above was clearly not written by the same person, which caught my eye too. Seems that HP is not so good at catching thrives who steal from within. I've been a victim of that too (with my images used by other Hubbers) and HP doesn't do much about it. They want me to show proof even though HP can clearly see creation dates. (Sorry, just had to add that even though this thread is not about her).

I usually like the changes Google has been introducing. But this one seems useless. All I get are my own comments I've made throughout HubPages on various people's Hubs. When I shut off personal results, it looks normal. I guess I'll be another one to shut it off permanently.

I wonder why the link to set preferences is not easily found. I only found it in Matt Cutts' post.

What is it your talking about here @ Garrett, about the Google Plus platform.  I'm having trouble understanding what your putting out here.  Is it Google Plus world, is that what your writing about here in this forum.  I don't follow random links so, I need more input, or explanation, thanks.

Cloud, just do a search for "Search plus Your World" and you'll find all the info you need on this newly introduced feature from Google. They just started it in the last couple of days. It only works when you're logged into your Google account, otherwise you get just normal search results.
