I was watching google analytics in real time when something really strange happenned. To put it into context I usually have about 10 to 12 hits an hour at the moment, I just had 15 hits in a minute, now its nearly 50 in half an hour. The problem is that they are all marked "DIRECT" with no source country on the map- also they are not google related. What is worrying is that they are looking at a lot of my hubs- not just the more popular ones- anyone got any ideas what could be happenning?
I don't know CW1, however I had more than 600 hits on one hub in 24 hours, all reportedly from FB. Apparently they are not real, however, they did not show up in Analytics. Maybe you're on a roll.
i just checked up, its a web service operated by Amazon and they have looked at every hub, sometimes more than once- so I will have to see; hopefully its northing nasty, I dont want to go in the sandbox again
This forum seems to be suggesting that not all bots from the Amazon aws are friendly - http://www.forumpostersunion.com/showthread.php?t=10490
I had thought it might not be good as they called in on every hub- even the "iffy" ones- I wonder if anyone else has noticed?
I have a hub that has been getting a lot of "direct" views over the past few days. It's got me a bit freaked out too, I must admit.
I think its the fact that they called in at each hub, sometimes once and sometimes more- it seems to have stopped so will have to see what happens- note to amazon- honestly they really are not worth copying
It appears that I caused this by tweeting my new hub. As I understand it, it would be a problem to Hub Pages server if a large number of hubbers were caught at the same time
I found this link which explains the situation, exactly as it happenned to me

That's a really interesting link, thanks
You learn something new everyday here, you really do.
It's almost like a denial of service attack, the way they slow the servers to a crawl, not that I know in detail what a denial of service attack actually is, but imagine it to be along those lines, tying up the servers so that real people can't get a look in.
My traffic is on a wild roller coaster ride lately.
I dont know whats happening with "G" but it's causing motion sickness for me.
I e mailed the team at HP- just to let them know. I am sure that they understand more than I do- It's probably nothing but it does not help to mention it.
I am back to my normal one or two hits a minute!
I am having a surge in traffic. I am not sure where it is coming from, but all of a suddent my pinterest referrals have gone crazy.
I also noticed a huge jump (almost twice) in my daily views today. I checked analytics and found that I got a surge of direct traffic, and all came from within hubpages. I think hubs got a boost in the SERP. I did a quick search of my hubs on google and I have many on the first page which were not previously there. I just hope my traffic will continue to rise like this!

I think something strange is going on with traffic. While watching my traffic on Real-time overview I saw another person's hub show up in my traffic. It showed up under top active pages. Now how does that happen? The page was a karma about squirrels. I don't have a hub by that name. Anyone got any...

Up until Thanksgiving Day I was averaging $9.28 a day. Since then it has gone in the tank. While I know the traffic is about the same. It has dropped away to almost nothing. Something is not right here folks.

It would be really helpful to see what the monetary value of each hub is per day or week or month (preferably per day or month) as an additional column on the main statistics page. For example, a Hub that was published years ago may have many views, but since they were acquired over a long time the...

Hey fellow hubbers,I've been posting quite a few hubs recently and I've also been doing quite a lot of SEO for them however, there is some part of the puzzle that just isn't clicking for me. Most of the people that are coming to my hubs are bouncing, my bounce rate is 78%. Can you look at just 1...

What is the main reason why some hubs seem to suddenly get traffic overnight while others might get some traffic, but it might take a couple weeks and then bam, they get a ton of traffic?I actually had a dream last night of getting all kinds of traffic from one of my hubs and just came on here...

As per the new changes HubPages has made, I was required to make a few changes to the amount of Amazon products I was showing. I lowered the amount of products to lower than an average of 1 per 50 words on the hubs that HubPages has penalized. Furthermore, on hubs that weren't penalized I got rid...
