Do you think fast food should be eliminated from schools?  Kids who buy their lunches are being cheated or not?  What do you think about foods that are sold in school cafeterias?  Do you think your child is getting the nutrition that he or she needs when buying food at school?

Absolutely not, given the negative nutrional value. Obesity is already a problem in this country, without encouraging it. And why should public schools endorse a private company on taxpayer property? Schools should be for learning not promoting private companies.

Fast foods at cafeteria never was like this. At one point in America's history; we had wholesome nutritious foods that were made the old fashioned way. There were less choices; but children were healthier and more active. However, with more choice and more synthetic foods we are heading towards disaster. We have enough junk food outside of school. However, those who elect to feed crappy food defend themeselves by saying that children want variety and junk food is cost effective. Of course, its cost effective. However, it will cost the health care system a lot of money down the road. For heaven sakes stop with the rubbish. Our children are our future we need to start eating healthy. No excuses. Thanks for asking the question tarajeyaram.

The cheapest foods tend to be the least nutritious and that is why we have junk food in schools. On a daily basis at my high school the only nutritious food was the milk. Everyday our options were pizza, french fries, cheeseburgers, and even the so called vegetables such as corn and green beans were laden with salt and some greasy "sauce."
