Well compared to the losers that call women 'bored housewives' and imply that they're somehow a special breed of stupid that buys into 'ridiculous things' because they are well 'bored housewives!' As if the rest of society is completely free of influence from the many ridiculous things that inhabit and force themselves into our lives via the media.
They 'these bored housewives' apparently sit at home drifting around drinking cups of tea, vacuuming the crumbs and talking shit with other 'bored housewife' friends. They are discussing what's for dinner, what there children are doing, and what dress they picked up at the shops. After 12pm they must turn to wine and discuss more risque things concerning vaginal bleaching, bikini lines, and other personal beauty routines that help them maintain the interest of their husbands, because that's all their capable of.
Surely it was them (men) who started all this nonsense. Wanting hairless vagina's that are the right color (according to what? Magazines creating propaganda that your man will surely like you plucked and primped to within an inch of its life and if you don't there are plenty of women out their willing to take your place) Women have been branded stupid and superficial when in fact women at home are shaping the lives of the children that will one day run our countries and cities, they do deserve some credit. Women at home can do great things and not all of them are focused on ultimately pleasing their men in the bedroom, surely we are capable of much more that focusing on what we look like. Doing interesting and inspiring things that we should all be proud of. Women do in fact have non stupid things in their heads!

    Whats your take on this!

Maybe shaping the lives of children but we have an economic system that does not reward the at home mom.  At home mom gets No 401K, No health insurance offers and definitely No Social Security unless she goes outside the home to work.  That's My take on it all.  No she is not stupid but she is not rewarded either for all her hard work.

I agree! They get the recognition off their children just no one else!

I couldn't disagree more with this statement. I am rewarded every day for my efforts. My children do great in school. They are happy and healthy because I made them that way. My husband is happy, because I see to it he is. I don't need the world to notice me or pay me. The roof my husband provides, the smile on my children's faces, it's priceless. No 401k would ever be better. Is it so bad to be a little selfless in life?

I was a stay at home mom for three kids...now my daughter is for her three kids.  While for years, it seems that homemakers got a bad rap, I don't think it's considered as lowly as it used to be.  Many of my daughter's friends have made this choice, also, and they love it...I'm very grateful to see the tide turning. smile

As far as recognition?  The only recognition I needed was from my husband, who truly appreciated the fact that I wanted to stay home and raise our kids myself. He was proud of it, and still is, even though our kids are grown now.

I didn't care what anyone else thought--what business is it of theirs anyway??? smile

Well written OP.Out of the whole thing I was struck by"Vaginal shaving and bleaching"which tells us something about men who prefer their women that way.
A man who needs a pubescent looking vagina...is a person of interest...and NOT in a Good way.If your man is one,I suggest you never leave him alone with your daughter's ladies.IMHO.

I'm sure you struck a chord with many women. I too have noticed the infatuation with odd fashion and inane forms of beauty impressed on women. I will not however agree that all "men" are the culprits. We-the feminine counterpart, have desperately clung onto notions and global pressure to convert. We have also somehow confused the beauty of feminism with a perplexing new era of women that think and/or want to replace men instead of being proud of our versatility we want to be "SOMEONE"S SOMETHING".

Thanks for a good, thought provoking hub.

You're welcome to read some of mine as well:)
