Help! I've posted a medium-low number of hubs with a bunch of pictures.

But, sometimes it's hard to figure out which pictures I put with which hubs and which I ended up not using (so I could delete them or use them in another hub).

Could you please add the option of grouping photos together with a particular hub? Or if someone else has a better idea, that would be cool, too.

The categories method currently out there doesn't work for me at all, in fact it complicates things. :-(

    Thanks for your consideration!

    Laura,

You can make your own categories/groups for photos, and are not limited to the given categories.  For some of my really complex Hubs, I group them by the name of the Hub.

Interesting... It wouldn't let me upload pictures the other day at all, and I randomly put some of the pics from the main bin into a random sub-bin and it allowed me to upload a few more before refusing to accept them. I'll write that off as an anomaly and start creating bins for my hubs. Thanks very much for your help, relache!

    What are the odds?
Just opened a thread addressing this very issue regarding a new idea my insane-brain came up with. Yeats & Keating! wink Thank you Laura.

:-) You're welcome! I guess it was just a good idea waiting to be born. I'd still like folders to be created automatically for each hub (pain to have to create them individually). They still could improve it in various ways to make it easier to deal with pictures... Usability engineers, are you listening? :-) Cheers!

lol Well, this engineer is. This is precisely what I am working on, a photo optimization and organization solution for publishers. something that exceeds Flikr, Picasa, Instagram, etc. Imagine being able to upload, arrange, organize photos for any publication you have, then have those photos optimized for search results, and be able to earn on-the-side by syndicating the entire portfolio or licensing image use. But, I wanted to get actual publisher feedback before giving it the full on go! big_smile ~James

I would like to be able to quickly and easily determine which photos I'm not using in hubs. It would be nice to do a little housekeeping with my HubPages images section.

There needs to be a better way to categorize our photos uploaded.
If you upload a picture it is stuck wherever you load it to. If by chance you have more than one use for the photo, then you must use the same "size" or all images will change.
If you decide to delete the photo from a place, you better know where you loaded it first or all will be lost.

I did the "name your category" when it came out. I have never been able to use it since. It has never opened up to use. (Waste of time)

I agree totally. I don't want to always be stuck with photos at sizes I don't like in my articles just because the other (more important) place it's used is a certain size. Ditto with deleting photos and moving them around. A good start would be drag-n-drop from folder to folder, auto-created folders for each article, preview how it would look in the current article before committing to it, thumbnails of photos in each folder, finding orphan photos as melbel suggested...

It doesn't work well for me either.

This is a great suggestion. Laura. As we start to work on improving the usability of Hub Creation later in the year, I will be sure to add this to our roadmap of improvements. I'm all for better photo organization and agree that it could be MUCH easier.

Relache, thank for the suggestion for the workaround in the meantime.
