Twitter Scam

   It looks like there is something untoward going on with Twitter mailboxes - a message encouraging people to sign up to a scam site is propagating itself. I received messages from fellow hubbers on there about ten hours ago, and it looks like people have received messages from me.
   
   The site is called http://...cnbc.com-explained.in (Link broken - you really don't need to visit the site).
   
   It is a scam - the site claims to be CNBC, but it has an Indian domain name.
   
   In the first sentence, it claimed that "Patricia Feeney of Spárti, never thought she would have a job working at home until one day she filled out a simple form online."
   
   I can tell you for a fact that there is nobody called Patrica Feeney in Sparta! It is BS.
   
   If you have signed up for the site, get the hell out of there, run malware checks on your computer, and contact your credit card provider/Paypal etc. They will prevent any further payments going out and may even reverse the charges for you.

      Hey Sufi,
      
      Many people continue to get their passwords on their accounts hacked. I receive messages from different people all the time through the DM option.
      
      I don't click links in my DM anymore because of the number of times I've received DMs from other people and the link goes to some phishing site.
      
      The message is usually- Someone is saying bad things about you and then it provides a link to the supposed things said, but it goes some site which triggers my Virus shield, letting me know it was a phishing site.
      
      So after the first few, I stopped clicking links in DMs.
      
      But, thank you for letting me know about this one though.

         I must admit that I didn't even know that Twitter had DM until receiving an email from a hubber a couple of hours ago!

                  At one time I was too. But, I got through it and learned so much in the process. However, as time has gone on, I have no kept up with technology, so it's sort of left me behind.
                  Thank you for asking. Life is um...oh right, Life is okay. If I take a second to explain why I sort of stuttered there is because generally speaking it is okay.
                  Well, things are progressively getting worse in America, and the actions of those who have power and influence, are the ones who are making life more difficult to live each day.
                  
                  And people wonder why 75% of Americans are on an antidepressant and more than 50% of citizens smoke weed or do some sort of other recreational drug of choice, just to get away from all the political BS and religious righteousness many people seem to have.
                  
                  But, I remain positive using a frame of mind that is reinforced every day when I wake up. Philosophy: I woke up, it must be a good day.
