   prettydarkhorse is correct. new players, 2 new coaching styles they had to get used to. The new players probably don't like Kobe taking 30 shots while they get just 5 to 9 shots. So, they don't hustle as much. This happens in basketball from playground level to professional.
   I'd give Cleveland a little more credit. Kyrie Irving was out the last 11 games. He is a phenomenal point guard and Varejao has been playing lights out so they could've been  a 10-12 team.
   Clippers are better than Lakers and now look at Golden State.

   I think that lakers can survive once all the players get acclimated to dantoni's system and most importantly develop chemistry on the court. Nevertheless, The west is still a tough division to face!

   All the synergy & cohesion in the world isn't going to help the Lakers. They do not have the personnel to fit D'antoni's system. They are old, big and slow, can't defend quickness or in transition. When they get healthy it will get worse, both Gasol & Nash are both defensive liabilities & their bench is weak. The Lakers will continue to struggle & will be lucky if they even make the play offs.

   The Lakers will continue to struggle even when Gasol & Nash return from injury. They are old, big, slow and can't defend quickness on the perimeter or in transition. Lakers bench is weak and do not have the personnel to fit D'antoni's system. They will be lucky to get a 7th or 8th seed, or even make the playoffs at all.

         Gasol has tendinitis and Nash is probable to return in a week or so.
