Professional Makeover.

   I want some peoples opinion about something please. I recently saw dismal drops in my views on my hubs. Now, granted I get on average only about 2 views per day on most of my hubs. I was trying to figure this out. I don't write dreadfully boring things.
   Then it hit me. I was breaking a few cardinal rules of hub pages.
   1. My images were small and not very interesting. Granted I have read fantastic hubs with no images.
   2. This was most of my problem. My profile looked so juvenile! My background was flames, my profile pic was a ridicules flaming e. LOL and my hubs were all titled in a simple and childish way and it all looked so sloppy. My research was showing that every time I published a new hub my viewers would read it then come to my profile and leave after about a few min or less.
   
   So I spruced things up and retitled a lot of my work and what do you know. My views are going up as did my hub score.
   Has anyone else ever done a makeover like this, and if so what were your results?

      This sounds interesting. While I haven't done a makeover on my profile in quite sometime, I've gone and re-titled some of my stuff and it actually helped despite that I have mainly creative writing pieces. I should really try this again with my profile and see what happens.
      
      As for that spammy post, Beth, we all know where that one is going...

         Didn't it say something about Scarlett Johanson or was that just the guy on the religious forum wishing she lay naked in his bed? I can't remember... sometimes it all starts looking like spam. lol

      I'm still very new to hubpages, but I've found I can make my scores move up or down depending on where and how many photos, text boxes, polls etc I include.
      
      Why not pick out three of your lowest scoring hubs and try out a different technique on each of them. e.g. on one put lots of photos, on another use a lot of text etc and then compare the results after three days.

         I really like this idea. I have several that are scoring low, and it has never made sense to me. I think I may play around with the format and see if that makes a difference. Thanks! Michele

            Its a funny joke. One of the parts of that post is a guy playing golf in the water. I think its the first url on there. Its been reported.

   After reading the forum I have to wonder out loud, does this hubber even make sense in what they assume? I see that they no longer exist. So, what happened? Did they make a professional move and go somewhere else? Or did the plan not work out? I am going to be writing some hubs soon and was looking for some professional advice on it, and found this article. But the hubber attached is gone, and as far as research the reason they are gone does not look good. Shouldn't posts made by hubbers that are booted or leave, be deleted unless helpful?

      If one were to apply that reasoning, then shouldn't people who haven't made any Hubs not be allowed to comment either because they aren't actually Hub authors yet?
      
      If you search the departed person's user name in the forum posts, the entire scenario will reveal itself to you.

         In my opinion, yes. Does that make me a bad person? Maybe there is some knowledge I lack, but it seems like unless you're really here b/c you are a participant of HP's, then why are you here? Maybe it has to do with the fact that you *want to start, but can't figure out how so you're allowed to post? I don't know. Just seems like it allows a lot of room for trolls etc.
