Need tips: Writing product reviews!

    I'm looking to start a series one detailed product reviews, with amazon capsules and all, that will get traffic and do well over time, any advice on layouts, content and such?

      Hi Londonlady,

      As PaigSr has mentioned, personal experience is one of the most important factors in writing a useful and successful product review. Focus on products you own (and include your own photos if possible), and give people a deeper insight into what it's like to actually use the product. Does it work well, but it's difficult to assemble? Is one particular setting more useful than others? These are the kinds of details your readers want. Hope that helps!

    First find products you own and or enjoy.  The reviews will mean more if they show a bit of you in them. Personal pictures also mean a bit more then just the images from Amazon or those off the package. I know from experience I have changed my mind because of what someone said about a product and their personal experience with it. And yes that was on the positive side. And for the over time portion find things that can be used year round or a group of things that work well together through out the year. I hope that this helps you and your continued writing.

    Whether I own it, or am considering buying a product myself, or for another, I do research on ratings by Consumer Orgs, such as Product
    Safety Commission,, etc, as well as search for various reviews about pros and especially the cons.  You can find low stars reviews just because someone didn't like the color because it was not what they expected from photo.  Others may love a product but have same complaint of color in photo, size, is not what image portrayed.  I add things like this to my reviews, not just the good points.

    I have done a review on a can opener.  I love it.  But, you still need an electric or one of those hand can openers for some cans, especially small ones like the small tuna cans.  I have added that to my review of the product.  I have sold several of them.
