Good government is committed to the happiness of the people and knowing HOW to attain happiness of the people.
How well do you think our government is living up to this ideal in our day?
Which Presidential candidate would be best for the country and why?
In that case you will not have good government. Candidates and parties are funded by corporations and it is he who pays the piper that calls the tune. So ultimately it is the purpose of government to be committed to the happiness of shareholdrs otherwise their funding streams are cut off and they do not get elected.
The Constitution is supposed to work in favor of the happiness of the people, not shareholders and corporations.
What is causing this problem?
...something the framers did not count on?
can we fix it?
somehow?
Stop supporting the GOP and you will be well on your way toward a solution.
Voting provides a REVOLVING door. The advantage is that those in office will not be in a position of too much power or corruption.
Also, The Executive Branch needs to have a true dedication to the People!
The one who puts his hand on the Bible, regarding his oath of office to uphold the Constitution… and to serve THE PEOPLE... needs to be telling the truth.
In the UK the idea of funding political parties from general taxation instead of corporations , individuals or trade union funding has been mooted on many occasions as a potential solution to cleaning up politics. However the commonly held image of a career politician just in it to feather their own nest means that this is not particularly popular with the public in general.
The uncorrupted are waiting to come in...
Right?

Back door deals, however, are not targeted, but they should be... and the ones doing the wheeling and dealing should be punished by law!

I suppose that is why there are two parties in American government so that whoever is in power has someone to...
