Google Bookmarks

   Does anyone know how to or even if it is possible to sort out the bookmarks we've placed in Google Chrome?
   
   I have several folders, and a couple of things have accidentally landed in the wrong folder--including a sub-folder.
   
   I can't seem to move them; they don't seem to be clickable or "drag/dropable" ..  (pardon me while I make up words.. lol.)..

      Click on the three lines, whatever that thing is called, in the top right corner of the Chrome browser window, go down to Bookmarks, and then click on Bookmark Manager. It will allow you to move links, folders, alphabetize, etc.

            It gives instructions for computer, Android, and iPhone/iPad. Just click on whichever one you want. I'm thinking you are using your computer. There is also a link at the bottom explaining how to organize, edit, and delete your bookmarks.
            
            My Bookmark manager is using the old style and not the new one with icons.

               Thanks, that was helpful.  And yes, I'm using a desktop computer.  It's all I have.  ;-) 
               At my age, I don't even want a 'smart phone.'  Those screens are way too small for me to be able to see well enough to do anything.

                  I prefer my desktop and only use my phone when I absolutely have to do something and am not at the house. My phone is a tablet and has one of the largest screens there is for a smartphone. Even so, I always put on my reading glasses if I'm doing anything more than making a phone call. Many prefer using the phone instead of the computer, but I'm with you and like using my desktop.

   I'm certainly no expert, but I've probably got around 1000 bookmarks (LOTS of reading material!) saved in Chrome and organized into folders/sub-folders so I can imagine how frustrating it would be to suddenly not be able to edit them! It sounds like the no dragging and dropping could be a problem in need of a real fix rather than just a helpful work-around.
   
   Sorry for asking the obvious question here, but did you restart Google Chrome?
   
   While I don't know how to fix your specific issue - sorry! - I'm wondering if one of these alternatives works for fixing the misplaced links:
   
   1) Actively going into your bookmarks manager? Perhaps you've already been trying to work from there, but I'm not sure. This should definitely allow you to move folders around. If not, I'd suggest the Google forums for the fastest help and/or resources for professional suggestions.
   
   2) When you're on the bookmarked page that you wish to re-sort, click on the star at the top (yellow when a page is bookmarked; blank/white when not) and this will bring up a little box with some edit options including the ability to select a new folder.

      I had not been in bookmarks manager, as it is not an immediately obvious choice. It's hidden. 
      Even following the advice of  DaphneDL, above, it was a small challenge, as there is another choice that must be made to open up the actual menu showing the bookmarks manager.
      It is not at all intuitive.
