Hey guys, I'm new here and actually just signed up yesterday. I've already published a hub (one), which got featured, but to most of you guys, big deal right?
Well I love to write and I'm committed. I'm not in this really for the money, I just want to write about what's on my mind. I am a gamer, so most of my hubs will probably be more towards that subject matter.
Anyway, I guess some nice help would be how to get more traffic? I don't have big expectations for right now obviously, but I plan on growing my audience. I don't know if I should just keep writing and it will come naturally or not. Some tips would be nice!
Also, if you could, I'm kind of confused on the "score". Is it based on writing abilities alone or also on how often you publish hubs, how often you communicate on the forums, how many people you follow, etc.?
Thanks guys. Also if you're willing to read my hub and let me know what to approve on would be awesome!
The answer to every question you have can be found in the Learning Center which you can access by clicking on "help" at the top of this page.
Don't worry about scores as they basically have no effect on traffic, etc.
Do, however, take the time to learn about how to use capsules, accredit photos and use the ad programs.
Your topic is a popular one, so you have lots of competition, both here and on search engines, but if that is what you know about, then that is what you should write about.
Good luck. The views will come, but you will need many articles to get them.
I just took a peak at your hub and want to warn you to be very careful about using photos without specific permission. Also, always double check for typos and spelling errors...I found one in one of your subheadings.
Thanks man! I really do appreciate it. I fixed the error. Also, about the pictures. Thank you so much for letting me know. The last thing I need right now is some sort of copyright problem.
You have to be a bit creative when it comes to using photos. I mostly use Morguefile.com and Pixabay because the photos are public domain and do not have to be accredited, although you should credit them anyhow. I edit them for free on Picmonkey.com, which has bit of a learning curve but really helps you to produce better looking photos. Take a look at a few of my hubs to see how I do my photos and set up my capsules.
By the way, welcome to HP!
Welcome! Congratulations on your first hub, may there be many more. Yes, go to the Learning Center and study the advice carefully - many nuggets of wisdom there - and try to make each hub 5 star to stand the test of time. Learn from other more experienced writers. Also, perservere, keep at it, even if you seem to be getting nowhere at first and competition is hot. Build up a quality core of articles on subjects you know best. This is the way to grow.

Ok, here goes. I rarely get involved in the forums, I guess I am a little on the shy side. I have been here almost 2 years now and have published over 80 hubs. I have only had 2 ever unfeatured and have deleted those and a couple more that I thought just were not up to par. My...

I know that this is the most asked question here, but I'd still really appreciate it if anybody answered.I've been on Hubpages for about 6 months now, and I've just published my 7th Hub, and I'm starting to write a few more. As of right now, I have 239 total views, and each Hub has roughly 36...

Hello fellow Hubbers,I'm a new Hubber seeking some words of wisdom from the veteran Hubbers here. If you could travel back to the day you first created your HubPages account, what are the three most important tips you would give to your past self and new Hubbers on this site?Chat

Having been on HP now for more than four years while kinda' inactive for the last two I am looking more closely. I have cleaned up my portfolio from over 100 hubs with low views to now about 10. I had a lean of writing more for self than as a business venture seeking a niche. Now, I am looking more...

I really wish HubPages would implement a simple English test before granting membership to new hubbers. It would save people wasting their time. I'm sure it could be automated. And I realise that some will copy and paste, but it might weed out some of the really bad ones.At the very least, a notice...
