It's the Socioeconomics-Yes, REALLY

   The main context of the 2016 presidential election is socioeconomics- i.e. building a viable, middle class economy.  In recent years, the middle class in America has been dwindling as a result of downsizing & outsourcing of jobs.  Many formerly middle class people are becoming the new poor.  That is why an overwhelming number of Americans voted for Trump because he addressed such issues.  However, despite WHO is in office, there WILL be socioeconomically successful people in the middle class & beyond.  How would YOU prepare YOUR CHILDREN to be socioeconomically successful no matter the political nor socioeconomic climate?

   We need to bring back vocational schools that actually teach students skills.  Skills is where its going to be at in the future in a great part, especially as we thrive to make America great again.  Jobs are coming back!

      We have to teach our children skill security instead of job security. If children have a high skill & education set, they never have to worry about becoming unemployed.  We also have to teach children to be entrepreneurs.   We have to get away from the slave-employee mindset.  We have to teach children to LOVE work & see it as a PASSION.  We have to teach children how to be engaged in work.   Lastly, we have to encourage & nurture their talents & their human potentials.

         Untrue.  In the fast changing world of today, few people make a lifetime career out of one skill and certainly not out of one employer.  And even if they do they must constantly update that skill, adding to it and compensating for the changes happening.  Perpetual schooling is fast becoming a way of life for all of us and vanishingly few can depend on employer loyalty to feed them for life.

            Children have to learn the art of branding their particular product so they can be in demand.  The keyword is being proactive  Those who are proactive will thrive in the 21st century work world. This is a great discussion!

   Solid skills.
   Math as it relates to the concrete world.
   English/writing as it relates to self expression, creativity and communication utilizing proper English/spelling.
   History as it relates to our world and our place in it.
   Keyboarding/Computer use as a tool for living in today's society.
   Economics, Civics, Political science, Philosophy as these subjects relate to how to think realistically and logically.
   Hands-on skills such as electronics, auto mechanics, woodworking.

   SEE CORRECTIONS IN YOUR WORDING, GM:
   We can enable children to be entrepreneurs. We can get away from the slave-employee mindset.  We can discover that children LOVE work when they are allowed to pursue their PASSIONS and interests.  We can allow children to be engaged in the work they find interesting and encourage new interests and skills in freedom (within appropriate boundaries) within the school setting. Lastly, we can encourage & nurture their talents & their human potentials through respecting them and the joy of life which manifests naturally within them.
   
   Enable has a negative connotation but here is the actual definition:
   
   enable
   allow, permit, let, give the means, equip, empower, make able, fit; make possible, facilitate; authorize, entitle, qualify; capacitate.
   
   ANTONYMS prevent. This is what we do by forcing them to work for grades, by not allowing them to engage in life as an opportunity but rather a place where they are used as slaves for the purpose of filling classrooms for the benefit of teachers and their unions.
   
   We need to start realizing the school systems are archaic. We are holding ourselves back when WE DON'T HAVE TO!!!!!!

      Totally agree.   It all STARTS in the home.   The most important thing is positive reinforcement of our precious children.   Even w/excellent educational preparation, if children receive negative reinforcement by their parents, their self-esteem will be negatively impacted which will effect their achievement of socioeconomic success.
