Does romance fall under "adult content"?

I am new here & understand abt "adult content". But, could I publish a Hub with some romance in it? Like kissing scenes or something like that. I have a story that only mentions sex but that's it; could I publish it on Hubpages without getting flagged or penalized?

romance is ok and mentioning sex. Kissing scenes... the line is really thin. I have seen some hubs with pictures of near naked women such as this one http://hubpages.com/hub/The-Top-5-Femal … -Fantasies and they seem acceptable.

You must be careful not to link to domains flagged as adult content.

Browse the "gender and relationships" topic section http://hubpages.com/topics/gender-and-r … ships/1955 to get an idea of what is acceptable.

I would say that, the purpose of the hub cannot be the simple portrayal of sex. It can't just be pornography. But, if you are writing an article about something else or writing a legitimate story that includes sex, that's ok. But I would also check both the hubpages guidelines and the guidelines of the sites you plan on using to make money, such as Google Adsense, ebay, amazon, etc.

People will tell you to read the rules.  That might not always help as they might not be specific enough for yor particular questions.  I personally suggest e-mailing them a link to your unpublished hub.  Ask them for feedback.
I was told there is a new software program that will automatically shut down all advertising  on your hubs if it picks up specific words.  Which basically means if you are more concerned about making money than you are staying true to your vision then all you will have to do is either change certain words or spell them incorrectly.  If you care about your artistic vision more than making money then you will simply have to shut off the ads yourself.
E-mail HP and see what they say.  It doesn't matter what the rules say.  it doesn't matter what anyone here says.  You need to ask the people who have the power to take down your hubs.
