Do benign fibroid lumps/cysts/etc change in size over time (one month big, later small, then big)?
Have you had this diagnosed as a benign cyst? You need to get an examination.
In my experience of both, they grow at varying rates. Shrinking and growing sounds very peculiar, hence my original point of whether this has been diagnosed.
I had a dr examine it last year but he said because it was round and smooth it was probably a fibroid adenoma or something like that. It was a bit big then. It shrank after a few months and then now it is big again, but I am pregnant so I thought it might be because of hormones. I wasn't sure if it were odd that it was changing size. I've not had a mammogram or a biopsy. I'm 26 so I guess I'm really not expecting it to be anything bad.
I don't know if big lumps get smaller. I can tell you that my wife had a small fibroid and had it removed. We spoke to a friend who specializes in cancer research, and she said that even benign lumps/fibroids/cysts in the breast may become malignant one day and must be watched. Sorry if that is scary, but it is good to see someone if your fibroid is growing OR shrinking suddenly, in my opinion.
