there is a spray that u can spray on the cover. If you spray it on the cover the cat will stay away... they sell it at target (i know for a fact) and any pet store I'm thinking

it is called Mini Scarecrow Pet Deterrent Spray- Green

try feeding the cat; it's probably hungry. the owner maya dumped the cat b/c they couldn't care 4 him/her. they have a right 2 live, 2. try helping the cat out by feeding him/her. the cat's likely hungry. the clawing may b their expression of hunger desperation. what if it were u that hungry????

Hi, my name is Murphy and I'm a Himalayan cat. The lady I own(frndlyghost is her username) says you might try putting wasabi paste on your car cover. You can get it in the ethnic food section of your grocery store. It might look a little weird, but it will keep the cat away, and it's very humane.

Being a cat myself, I think the stray just wants to drive your car. Why not give him or her a set of keys? Oh wait, cats can't drive. No thumbs, and our legs are too short to reach the pedals. Guess you should just try the wasabi.

Don't do the wasabi (no offense) - if the cat gets that on its paws or in its eyes, it's REALLY going to hurt. There's a product called Contech Stay Away. You can get it on amazon. Type in SSCat. You set it to detect motion, and it gives off a sound and a blast of air. Should be enough to deter the cat. Do you have a cat in the house? Just wondering why the cat would choose your car cover - mostly, they scratch to mark their turf. That's why I asked about another cat. You could also put something like aluminum cans that would fall when the cover is scratched. Last tip, try washing the cover, cats have scent glands in their paws. Part of what the cat is doing (in addition to the scratch signs), the cat is leaving "scent" signals, too.
