Has anyone made an actual step by step procedure for SEO?

I have been writing hubs for a few weeks now, but I don't think they are easy to find or even coming close to being seen in search engines.  I have seen a lot of SEO hub pages articles, but they seem to leave a lot of assumptions that I am naive to.  Can someone make me a step by step?

There are 1000's of different ways to do it, and it really depends on the end goal you are trying to get. A particular website to a certain rank? Lots of information to come to the forefront of searches? Or just trying to get as much press as possible in a capacity someone will see it?

Each route has a different answer and procedure, but simple blogging never hurts!!!

The best, by far instruction for SEO that I've found is "Stomping The Search Engines 2.0" offered for one dollar by stompernet. The course is step by step and easy to understand.

To get the course, you must sign up for a trial of their monthly magazine, "The Net Effect."(digital version) This has a $39.95 a month charge after the first month to continue, but may be canceled at any time (even during the trial period). The magazine itself is valuable information for more detailed information on SEO and marketing in general. It just depends on your budget and level of interest whether continuing the subscription would be worthwhile to you.

The offer can be found at: http://www.stomping2.com/
(this is NOT an affiliate link, I just really believe in this course.)

    I tried that here: http://hubpages.com/hub/Hubpages-traffic-SEO

But the main thing is to get your hubs links and make sure that aside from having great content, you integrate keywords in the title and content of your hub.

I just made a step by step SEO procedure for hubbers.

Basically, SEO start from Keyword mining, analysis, and then overall architecture of your hubs or sites, and then

place the keywords exactly on your url, summary, headline, content, and tags

Backlinking is very important but if you don't have a specific keyword phrase that you want to fight for on Google ranking, then it's no point to backlinks 1000 other credible sites, I already explained the reasoning in my hub:

I suppose I'm a bit late to this party, but the SEO blog SEOmoz recently posted this article about learning SEO: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/6-ways-to-learn-seo Included in the article are recommended guides, books, blogs, and communities to explore to learn SEO. I highly recommend the Beginner's Guide they link to in that article.

I've also written an overview here on hubpages at http://hubpages.com/hub/FindYourSearch but it's more conceptual than step-by-step. You still may find it useful, though. smile

step by step procedure for SEO :

    Title Tags

Title tags are the most important ranking factor on your page. It's critical to get them right. Proper title tag strategy is comprised of three factors:

    Meta Tags

As we've covered many times, the description meta tag is the most useful. (And, the NOODP tag is now useful for reasons that we discuss in this month's updates section.) All others are basically useless in terms of having any effect on search results or link descriptions.

    Content

Ranking-wise, search engines tend to pay attention to keywords found within certain tags. These include bold, italics, and bullet (or list) tags. Just remember, if you're bolding, italicizing and bulleting everything, that's the same as emphasizing nothing—because nothing stands out for the rest of the page. So, choose the keywords you want to emphasize carefully.

Keywords in Image Tag Alt and Title Attributes

Search engines do index content found in image alt and title attributes—and placing keywords within the image tag can have a small positive impact on rankings. These attributes were designed to make images accessible to the vision impaired and to people who surf the web with image loading turned off in their browsers—and that's how these attributes should be used.

    Links on Your Pages

There'stwo types of links you'll have on your pages:

Internal links are a critical and often overlooked aspect of search engine ranking. By linking to your own pages with the keywords you want them to be found for, you significantly increase your chances of ranking well for those keywords. Be sure to use keyword-rich anchor text in your site's internal linking.

External links also carry more weight than most people realize. While it's true that linking to "bad neighborhood" sites (i.e. sites that flagrantly violate search engine guidelines) will often get you penalized, linking out to highly reputable and authoritative sites within your topic can actually have a small positive ranking effect.
