   What are your ideas for the best way out of this economic mess?
   
   Sometimes I think the people in government are no more qualified to handle the economy than the average layman.  Lets see what solutions you can come up with.

   My grandfather never had a "real" job... but he made butter that he sold, fixed shoes as well as any cobbler could and cut the grass for half a dozen home owners across a twenty mile radius (that he travelled with his horse and cart most days of the week)...
   In recent years people have forgotten how to make money - not get rich quick stuff - but real money, paid hand to hand and passed with goodwill for a job well done...
   Today, with the internet offering so many ways to make money from home, the solutions to your financial pressures and demands is to find a way to sell a product, service or idea to the millions of people out there searching for a solution..

   The banks need to be dealt with. They are still planning to give large bonuses and these really should be PRP not just because they normally get them.
   
   Some people say we should spend our way out, but I would be anxious about this. Spend to much and if your job goes you are stuck.

   people. that's my idea. we need to become the people who help out each other again. companies need to stop taking all the profits for themselves and start sharing the wealth. people need to stand up and stop buying from companies that send jobs elsewhere. people need to stop worrying about poor me and start taking chances and start their own companies. people need to force the government to give money to new businesses and stop giving bailouts. people need to demand companies that have gotten bailouts use that money to help the economy and not just themselves. people need to support only companies that are tried and true. people need to quit worrying about what's going on in other countries and start worrying about what their country needs.
   i don't care what others think but as long as we continue to let people become wealthy just because they can entertain us or because they are ceo's we are doomed. capitalism is a grand concept that just isn't feasable. if you don't believe me , just keep doing what your doing but don't complain when you see your taxes used to help the ultra rich or help companies like GM who's bosses care only about the bottom line.

   Think the whole world has become too consumer-led, it would be a good idea if everyone concentrated on their 'needs' rather than their 'wants'.
   
   If everyone took a bit more responsibilty in what they do, and stopped being such a throwaway society, then I'm sure the 'mess' the global economy is in, would correct itself.
   
   Trouble is, when that happens, the politicians would take all the credit for 'saving' the planet from economic disaster.

   fiat money controlled by foreign interests was always a lose lose situation for the citizenry of the united states.  Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln both got rid of Rothschild banks, and died for it.  Garfield and Kennedy either thought about it, or like Kennedy, proposed a bill, and also died for wanting to rid America of foreign control via Rothschild banks.  Fiat money systems are always criminal, as money is created and destroyed at the whims of criminals, loaned at interest, and can only be paid back by the same currency that was created and loaned at an interest.  I think you can figure out the solution on your own.  Luckily for you, you are not a P.O.T.U.S., and so your life is probably safe.

   Solutions on high level I don't know - it seems it might be difficult to stop that.
   But I know there are many ways out for each and every single person by taking small jobs etc. What I have learned and know are all the different opportunities on the internet. There are many solutions – those wanting to give it a try can find ways to learn how to start an online business.

   Sadly, the way out of this economic mess involves a lot of pain, and nobody really wants to go there. The governments can't suggest such a thing, as they would be kicked out and burned at the stake.
   
   The economy is based on most of us spending more than we make, and more than we ever should have. The solution is for most of us to STOP spending. Well, that will wreck a lot of companies and make things even worse for a while. Probably a long while. So, who wants to be part of that?
   
   Myself, I have reduced my spending as much as possible. I take full responsibility for my debts, including my upside down mortgage, and will continue to work on paying all that debt down as long as I can. I have a plan to get all but the mortgage paid, and will deal with that when I sell.
   
   But, if we all reduced spending like I have, the economy would get much worse for a while.Sadly, that is the only way to truly fix this mess.

   I think you are correct when you say they are "no more qualified." How can anyone forget Harry Reid walking around the Senate floor infront of cameras saying "no one knows what to do, no one knows what to do", following the banking melt down, That was very re-assuring to the American people.
   I think the thing the govenment should do is to have faith in our system and just get out of the way. Let the free market do its job. Keeping the banks afloat was one thing, giving billions to GM and other co's was a major mistake.
   In the 1960's the GM CEO was criticized for stating that "what's good for GM is good for the country". But didn't this administrations actions bear him out as correct.
   Keep taxes down, stop printing money, start cutting government spending, not in plans that people have paid into, i.e, social security, but government wasteful giveaways. Turn welfare, unemployment and section 8 and food stamps back into what they were intended to be, a bridge to get back on track not a way of life. Do these things, and the greatest economy in the world will remain just that.

    I say it is time to abolish the IRS as we now know it.  I am leaning towards that of the "fair tax" system.  We need to do away with the tax "loop holes" that Corperate America gets.  We need to put more of the money that the hard working Americans get each week back in their pay checks.  THIS, I beleive would instantly stimulate our economy.  We need to return the Charity giving back to the private and out of the hands of the Government.  Reduce our spending by the means of "pork barrel" spending.  Increase our Military spending, and encourage "peace through strenght".  Most importantly, return our troops back home, and put them on the border, to stop the illegal immigration.

    There is no easy way out.  The entire basis of our society is a house of cards.
    
    The bad news is that if there is a way out it will require a period of military dictatorship and much hardship.  Then establishment of a world governing body with military backing.  The best government will be a combination of capitalism and socialism that is severely enforced and a forced reduction of world population.  The Earth is grossly overpopulated.  We need to lose at least 3-4 billion people as fast as possible.
    
    I expect climate change or a natural disaster to do that for us and we can expect several billion people to die off in the next century.
    
    Climate change is already out of control and it is highly possible we may precipitate a new ice age which will make much of the northern hemisphere unlivable.

    I think that the way out of this economic mess will have to start at the top. Even if they are not qualified they must handle it. With government printing paper money that is barely worth the paper it's printed on how do we stand a chance? The governments are going to have to take some strong and powerful measures to reduce unemployment and strengthen the the economy of the countries. I also think that all real estate loans should be reduced in accordance to what the properties are currently worth. Too many people are defaulting on their loans since they are "upside down". If homeowners were at least paying something rather then nothing it would greatly help our economy.

    Each individual, each family must tighten their personal budgets.  So should each business.  So should each government entity..........they should set the example.
    
    I wish no one to be hungry or sick...........let us start with no more research as to the benefits of burning cow dung for energy.  Let us learn that from the native Indians!
    
    Relax the restrictions on small business.
    
    If I can build a storage shed to house your boat and lawnmower, does it really concern the government?  Do I really need a multimillion dollar insurance policy?  Do I really need to pass " classes" to get a building license, when I have a natural talent?  Would a dress designer attempt to do this?
    
    Personally, I can not do that!  But if I could, shouldn't it  be between you and me?
    
    If I can cook you a dinner for your family ( this I can do), should it really matter if my kitchen sink is stainless steel?  Isn't  clean good enough?
    
    Isn't the consumer informed today?  Aren't we capable of protecting ourselves without so much, so very many government guidelines and regulations?
    
    
    No where and in no place do our founding documents say, that we can pursue life, liberty, and opportunity at  government approval.
    
    Stand up Americans!  speak out against..........
    
    THE IRS......theirs.
    
    The government needs to FIRST stop protecting us from ourselves!

    One thing that any individual can do is spend your money locally.  A dollar spent at a local grocery tends to stay in your area.  A dollar spent at Walmart goes to china.  Bank locally, buy locally.  Create more jobs in your area!

    We missed some truly great opportunities by spending most of the stimulus money appropriated in ways that were not effective. First and foremost, we should have set up some across the board taxbreaks which every level of small business could pursue while at the same time getting the legislation passed to extend the Bush tax cuts at least another five years.  Given those two premises, business would be on better footing to grow and expand in an upward direction.  Beyond that, we could have placed the money into the frige to wait for some additional ideas to arise. WB

    The economics problems facing our country have roots in a lot of places. There are no simple answers just hard ones. We-the citizens-- have the ultimate responsibility for our nation.
    
    We've gotten lazy and nearly bankrupted ourselves with unnecessary debt and avid consumerism. Our government's financial lack of responsibility is only a reflection of American society at large. We--the people are going to have to work harder, save more and demand our elected officials do the same.
    
    With ingenuity, entrepreneurship, hard work and thrift we can work our way out of this mess. It's our job and cannot be delegated to governmental institutions that only know how to spend money, not make it.
