What did you think of Christina Aguilera's botched National Anthem at the Super Bowl?
I'm not sure how to answer this...I think Christina has an amazing voice, and is probably a pretty good kid.
But, it is the National Anthem! At the Super Bowl! In front of 111 Million Viewers!!
Take a few moments to get it right!
I think so many performers are too interesed in making this song..."thier way"...changing up the tune and trying too hard to "spice" it up.
All anybody has to do, is just sing it with all of their heart and with passion and most importantly.....correctly!. If she would have done that, she would have made a 111 MILLION people proud.
she screwed up!
I find it kind of hard to be too happy about it.
Botched? Yes, Slightly more entertaining than the "Black Eyed Peas"? Yes, even after misplacing a few lyrics and intermittently singing the Anthem in 2 different keys, she still has the voice of an angel, or maybe devil in this case......
"Slash" saved whatever was left of the "Music Extravaganza" segments of the show.
Then, in the end, the "Lombardi Trophy" found it's way back home after an extraordinary super bowl performance by both teams. The highlight of the afternoon.....
It is unfortunate she "botched" the National Anthem. She is a talented young women and is taking a lot of slack over it.
I think if you are going to sing the National Anthem you should make sure to get it right, but we need to remember that people make mistakes.
she made a mistake and people act like it's the end of the world. give it a try in front of a billion people and see how you do is what i'd say to people.
I think it's a rather unfortunate circumstance considering her talent.
She screwed up in front of millions of patriotic Americans; that cannot be good for her career.
I think she was trying to change the melody, that being off key was not entirely a screw-up, and I was really appalled by that. As far as messing the words up, she is a professional, and if there is ever one song she should have gotten right, it is The National Anthem. She owes America an apology.
The problem with the performances is that the soud quality is not good. The singers can not hear themselves properly. Ideally, they should start to focus more on sound and less on special effects, moving forward.
How does a person who's job it is to perform in front of millions of people, and who does it routinely screw something like this up?
You either didn't prepare for it or you were on drugs. Or both!

What do you think about the NBA/NFL players who kneel when our national Anthem is played? Is it to show their disdain for the lawmen of our country when they enforce our laws? Or their disrespect for our country? Are they teaching our children to disobey our country’s laws, teaching them there should...

Do you think we need a new national anthem? There is a movement to replace our national anthem with a new one. A poll last week indicated that many Americans think that Bruce Springsteen would be the best choice to compose a new national anthem. Do we need a new one?

Why don't we hear the second verse of the US National Anthem more often? Here is a link of a man singing the second verse of The Star Spangled Banner... Why don't we hear the anthem sung in its entirety? It's not long, so brevity needn't be a concern. http://www.godvine.com/Marine-Stuns-a-C...
