    Having any pet you wanted?

If you could have any pet you wanted (legal), what would it be and why? I would want an Alaskan Husky.

An Irish wolfhound, please, any day. Not a good looking animal, but a wonderful nature and provides great companionship. Easily trained and very biddable. The kind of dog used as a mascot by the army and in parades. A great symbol of the what's good for humans in the dog world.
I once spent a few days in the company of three humans and eight wolfhounds. The dogs' behaviour in the collective really showed their true nature.
Unfortunately they do need lots of space to run around in and be happy in. It's not enough to take them for long walks etc and I'm afraid I'm not in a position to do that yet. I live in hope. Thanks for the question.

an elephant, without a doubt. they are amazing creatures that are loving, loyal and my neighbors would have a heartattack when they saw me riding it down the street.

Awe you put the (legal) part in there.  I'm going to go with a pet fish.  First, Deuce Bigalow had some so that automatically makes them cool.  Second, they poop and pee in their own space.  It never smells, and the tank practically cleans itself.  If you want to talk to your fish, just start talking.  The fish is your captive audience.  Feeding them is easy.

Now unless you had an eel or shark, those kinds of pets would be a little trickier.  So are beta fish.  There's probably an exotic fish expert on here somewhere who can attest to the difficulties of caring for temperamental fish.

I would love to add a St. Bernard to my family.  I have ten parrots and a yorkie, but would love to own one of these large dogs.  I have heard great things about them from others that have owned them.

I have a strong desire for a German Shepherd these days. I'd also love a Bernese Mountain Dog.

And a hedgehog...both those aren't legal in California. Ironically enough, they are in the state I left to come to California (that state being Colorado).

I would like to have a very small farm with some common animals like a few chickens, cows and maybe a goat. smile
