I have many favorite books but I think Khalil Gibran's The Prophet is my greatest favorite. This small book contains so much truth about almost all the important things in life: marriage, children, giving, eating and drinking, work, joy and sorrow, crime and punishment, laws, freedom, pain, good and evil, etc. There isn't one superfluous word in it.

My favorite line is the last in the book:

"A little while, a moment of rest upon the wind, and another woman shall bear me."

Khalil Gibran teaches us a lot about the transient aspect of live, but also tells us it is eternal. We are part of an infinite chain, but only as a minute link.

Anyone who has read and pondered on The Prophet will never hate his neighbor, will never use violence or support it. He will  always be someone who loves and cares for humanity.

    Hm...I have quite a few.

'The Success Principles' by Jack Canfield. Excellent read, made me re-evaluate my life. To take a different approach to things. I actually highlighted passages. I have summarized versions of the 64 principles on my wall. I read a few or sometimes all of them, weekly. I find them inspiring. Although, I'm not yet in practice of all the principles. Maybe someday.

'The 4-Hour Work Week' by Tim Ferris. I don't think I'll reach the point of working only four hours a week, but I think Tim Ferris makes some great points. Material, I don't think I'd find in any other book. It's an interesting read. I still read it time to time.

'The Dark Tower' series (I mention again) by Stephen King.

'How To Write A Damn Good Novel' by James N. Frey. I picked it up to read years ago. Amazing book. I felt as if it revolutionized my writing after. I still refer back to it occasionally.

Well, those are a few of my favorites.

I absolutely adore Flowers For Algernon by Daniel Keyes. Beautiful book. Last four pages are so moving.

Nice to see a mention for the Dark Tower series! I LOVE book three of that, The Waste Lands.

Not technically a book, but a text I read and listen to a lot, and is easily my favourite play, is Othello.

I have quite a few but the first ones that come to mind are the Harry Potter series - all of them, The Alchemist and Tuck Everlasting.

    Hi

My favourite author of all times is Sydney Sheldon and the book that I like is one of his work. The book is "Tell Me your Dreams".
    Awesome book.

"The Grapes of Wrath" is my pick, for its message of hope in the face of impossible odds.

"The Brothers Karamazov" by Fyodor Dostoevsky
but a close second would be "The Sound and the Fury" by William Faulkner.
