What would it take to get you to 'take up arms'?

I was talking to a freind and mentioned that I could see two options for me in a Romney/Perry/Paul America; flee to Europe, specifically a country like Denmark or Norway, or stand and fight.

At one point I may have said that I'd take up arms like they did in Libya?

But what would it take to get you to join a rebellion against the United States?

After listening to a speech of August 2011 by Tarek Fatah, I would take up arms against those who would destroy our country, our way of life, and us (Americans).  Tarek Fatah: "If we do not confront them today, our children will not forgive us tomorrow."

School prayer, religious rule of any kind, and the loss of the 1st amendment.  These are a few of things that would make me take up arms.  America always needs to remain politically free from divide and religious persecutions.  The American people should always have the right to free speech.

I think many people are close to that now.  This country has become a mere shadow of what it once was.  We have been traveling down a path toward Socialism for over 100 years now, and the election of 2008 shifted that trend into high gear.  We wear once a free people, with a society based on a single principal:  An individual is free to decide how he will live, where he will live, and is free to succeed or fail on his own.   Now, Government controls our every aspect of life, and I feel that the nation is becoming a mirror image of the European society that my ancestors fled so many years ago.

It has been said that you have to lose your freedom to appreciate it.  Well, I think we are at that point.  It is time to draw a line in the sand and say "This far, and no farther!"

    AJ:
See I think, as I've said in more than a few hubs, that we're heading towards a society of, by and for the corps and thier CEOS.

Your reply is an example of how well they're doing.

A tarantula walking into my house. That sob will be dead where his eight hairy feet stand and the smoke billowing off my pistol.

For me, it would take the resurrection of George Washington and at least 100,000 people; or at least for the Tea Partiers and the disenchanted liberals to realize that they have the same complaints (despite what the media says) and that they are really allies looking for different solutions to the same problem.

Would you really take up arms and fight against one of those people if they were elected?  You are, unfortunately, sounding exactly like your political opposite who said, almost four years ago, that they would take up arms against an Obama administration.  I think that so long as our civil liberties are intact there is no reason to rise up against the government.  The removal of our rights to choose, own weapons, and pursue happiness would be the qualifiers though.

Short answer: when religious dogma becomes law.

I'm leary of people who claim the loss of the "American way of life" and freedom of any kind.  My experience tells me that they always have a distinct "way" of righteous living: God-fearing, heterosexual and "family valued."

It's time to learn how to be civil disobedient.

Bitch all you want.  The bottom line is that we live in the best country in the world.  Regardless of who is leading us we are still the UNited States of America.  TeaPartyCrasher please move to Europe.  You do not deserve to be here.  I have been all over Europe and trust me after a couple months you will be begging to come back to the US.
