Do any of you believe that the economy will get better in 2012?
Absolutely, even in the face of the Conservative's continuing and so far successful attempt to prevent any attempt by the Democrats to pass legislation which will help bring about faster growth.
I certainly hope so. Eventually the pendulum has to swing the other way.
I think and hope it will but very slowly people are so cautious now that its holding things back the banks themselves being too cautious about lending money for new enterprises etc....
Only if we will learn to chose our presidents more wisely and for their skills, not how nicely they talk or pretty they look on pictures!
If we are removing all the soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan (and I do wish we do), we either need to stop reducing the services and punish them with their service to their country with certain unemployment or come up with some much better solutions!
I think (and hope) that it will get better in 2012 but ONLY if people stop listening to media hype and start spending money just a little more freely and specifically on items made in the USA. This country needs more manufacturing jobs. If we were willing to spend a little more for USA made, even at the expense of having just a little less in quantity, I think we could make progress. There are still things like dinnerware made in the USA but you need to look for them.
Yes, I do think it will get better. The Christmas season was very good for retailers, so I think that is an indication that people are beginning to spend money again. I think 2012 will be a good year for the economy.
Your's can if you start saving for your future. if we focus on the economy and the Nay sayers we will think the world is doomed. When you have money you do not have to listen to the economy, because you are not in that class. When you have money you can make decisions that others can't make.
The rich do not worry about money, travel, and spending because they have done what others wish they had done. Think about this do an inventory of all the things you got for christmas, or bought and ask yourself how much of that could you have done without? How much money you would've saved if only you had thought it through. I am not saying don;t give but not as much especiall to ourselves.
My grandchildren got so much this Christmas I know it was in the thousands, to me that is crazy, when they need to move. I told their parent that a new home was a great gift but they choose stuff that the kids are now saying they are bored with.
3 kids three thousand dollars a nice saving account for the kids, the new Townhouse and maybe a few dollars left over. What i am saying is we focus on things that are not important, new car, fancy house, designer clothes, and all are worthless, but cash to pay cash for these thing is priceless.
You owe no credit company that rips you off and causes millions of americans to say we are in an economic downfall, when the truth is they could not afford the home in the first place. ( not all but most of them got ripped off by the mortgage company) so in closing in 2012 start to focus on your future and how your money will bring economic success to you and your family.
Nope. It'll get much, much worse. Most people don't understand what happens when you dump money and credit into an economy. The Great Depression lasted for over a decade, what makes you think this will be any different. While out leaders are all patting themselves on the back over averting "Great Depression II", the average American is still suffering from 20% unemployment, which includes 8.4 million people who are no longer counted because if you're not on the unemployment rolls, you're apparently not a person anymore.
One thing that worries me is all that money banks are sitting on. They actually did us a favor by sitting on all of it and not letting it circulate. That's kept prices from going through the room. Now that things "look" to be getting "better", banks are going to start lending that money and the value of the currency will go down. That means prices will go up.
So now, people on fixed incomes, unemployed, etc. are going to get a huge kick while they're down. All thanks to idiots that made a mistake several years ago. This is why we need smart people as leaders, not scumbag politicians. Oh well, people will learn or they won't.
I don't think so, the economy will take many years to recover. With unemployment so high, people still look towards loans to see them through, and there are companies that will hand these loans out, without thinking that they won't be repaid. This will only make things worse. Inflation and prices will keep rising, companies will not be able to pay higher salaries as costs rise, and people will run into trouble as they can't keep up with these rising costs.
It's a sick cycle, and only with planning, diligent saving on consumers parts (we rely far to heavily on loans), and companies that stop offering 'buy now pay later' schemes, will our econmy begin to recover.
The entire humanity survives on hope. Positive hope takes us ahead and we shall hope this will happen in 2012

Evan Rogers here with another breaking story about how we're all doomed because our leading economists are all bozos. Here's Joseph Stiglitz making the case that technology causes unemployment, and was a major factor in the Great Depression.http://www.vanityfair.com/politics/2012 …...

Funding for our country's children is being cut, but we allow a hedge fund manager to make enough money to pay the salaries of every public school teacher in New York City. Most of his earnings are taxed at a rate less than that of his secretary. We haven't been able to do anything about it because...

This is, of course, an open question since he has just started his four years, but since the RINO Party is already saying defeating Covid and growing the economy is a disaster, I thought I would start a thread that proves them wrong.I just listed two things he has done:- Got America well on its way...

With the income gap between the wealthiest American's and the soon to be decimated middle or working class ever increasing. How much more proof do you need that tax cuts for the wealthy isn't creating jobs or supplying wages that are holding their own against inflation....
