Are you on Squidoo?
I joined Squidoo after reading Hubpages vs. Blogger vs. Squidoo by bruzzbuzz and just published my 1st lens today. My initial impression is: Hubpages is much easier to work on. I was struggling to finish my 1st lens as I don't know how to do the bullet points, give credit for the photos etc. I had to post this question for answers, before I could move on. But as I start to play around with the features, Squidoo seems to have more features to give that 'wow' look to your article. The downside of Squidoo: if they think your article hasn't 'meet the grade" it will not be searchable!
Hi greatstuff, I tried it and I didn't like it for the same reasons you mention. HP is much more user friendly and nicer to use :-)
Squidoo is much harder to make money on, my adsense from those articles is very low but it does make a good quality link to your websites.
I do have some page so on Squidoo however for me, I have done better here at hubpages and like other mentioned hubpages is an easier platform to use for most pieces of creating a hub.
Yes, I joined a few weeks ago to see what it was all abut. The creation aspect was pretty fun, but the trouble is the site just doesn't have a community feel to it like hubpages does. It's a world apart in that regard.
I have heard a lot of people say they enjoy Hubpages more
I started with Squidoo first: at the time, HubPages didn't exist yet! They were both very different sites then. What makes for successful content on each is definitely not the same and how each works can suit people differently. Having now been on each site for five years, my earnings on both combined make a livable wage.

I set up an account on Squidoo some time ago but never posted any material. I honestly couldn't make heads or tails out of that site and since I already had my HubPages profile up and running I decided to stick with HP.
I use Squidoo a bit, but from what I can tell, there is really no community there. HubPages has become one of my favorite sites, because you can write/read articles and interact with the authors so easily. The timeline style of the homepage and the ability to 'follow' topics of interest are what really sets HubPages apart.
I have squidoo account and i can feel your pain. LOL. hp is easier to navigate.
I have one article on Squidoo... I really don't like the site compared to Hubpages. Squidoo does make the article look nicer and have more of a visual appeal, but I still prefer Hubpages over it.
I have several lenses at Squidoo. I enjoy both Hubpages and Squidoo a lot. Not sure that I have a favorite, although I love answering these questions at Hubpages. It's so addictive.
I started at hubpages and squidoo at the same time but I liked hubpages more. The community feel is way better and I've actually made a few pennies here. I was on squidoo for about a month and I never made 1 penny. I like that on squidoo you can make your blogs look prettier but that's about the only perk for me. I'll probably give squidoo another try in the future but for now I'm sticking with HP.
Squidoo drives me nuts! As others have mentioned, it does not have a good editing system. You have to know html, and even then it does not always seem to work. So far the only way I can find to interact with other Squids (?) is by finding a lens with links in it to other lenses. There is, apparently, a Squidoo Community but, so far, I haven't managed to find it.
HubPages is far better!
I thought about it. More google adsense revenue. I don't really do the article thing. I just know about squido as another thing that I would sign up for so I say "social domination everywhere" to get my name out there. But hubpages is home. you can still get the credibilty and you get support and you can still get multiple avenues of revenue how ever you want. if you don't meet the grade, that will not make me join.
hubpages gives us a subdomain of our own so we can get a better measure of how we are doing, i guess a little before I joined some great hubs weren't getting the best traffic because their were some bad hubs that people were doing and they are seperate now.
makes sense though pull your own weight. google anayltics was suggested to me on hubpages in the tutorials and I didn't have a problem with the install, that little trick helped me on my biz site. don't know if squidoo does that. but again.. hubpages is home. everybody that meets the bare..common sense and manners will automatically meet the grade here.
GO HUBPAGES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for all your answers & comments. Since posting this question about 2weeks ago, I have published my 2nd article on Squidoo a few days back. It was a bit easier to do my 2nd lens as I now know how to use the features. Despite all these, HP is still the best platform. It is more user-friendly and the community feel is a lot better here. The ONLY positive thing (my personal opinion) on Squidoo is its many features that can turn your lens into a better looking articles, compared to HP.
But readers may not be interested in these features, they want quality articles. So I am going to stick with HP and spend all my time and energy in just one platform. (In case you want to know, I write under the name 'AprilMonth' in Squidoo.)
Just realised that HubPages acquired Squidoo back in August. Very interesting move on their part.
Yup, and they will be adding one of Squidoo's Callout capsule into HP!

Have I joined HubPages on the worst time? Is HP dying?I've been here for 3 weeks, I'm actually enjoying it, the community is great and intelligent I'm learning a lot. But let's be honest, the money also matters a bit, I want to make a few extra bucks too. But now EVERYONE is talking about moving...

Janderson posted something really important yesterday which I think everybody here needs to read http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/132621#post2759379.If he is correct in his assumptions (which it appears he might be), it is time for all of us to start making copies of all of our hubs (if we are...

Hubpages is OK, but I really miss some of the things about Squidoo - the active community forums, ability to leave comments on lenses, some of the funny, non-product articles (anyone remember GuyB?), the not quite so many ads on all the articles...I guess the thing I miss the most is people being...

Is it better to write for HubPages or Squidoo?Recently, I've heard a lot about Squidoo being possibly better than HubPages in many aspects. Which do you think is better to write for if you're looking for traffic and earnings?
