What did you want to be when you were younger. What did you end up doing?
I wanted to be an RN and a photographer. I still do photography but no longer do nursing. Today, I am using my photography skills to improve my writing. For the most part.. pretty happy with what I do.
Fashion designer and interior designer. Now I'm a medical transcriptionist and have a double major in Psychology and Criminal Justice.
I wanted to be a marine biologist, I am now a software/web developer.
I was very confused lad at school days. Initially I was willing to become a Gynaecologist (Women's specialist), then it shifted to Fashion Designer for few years, but I landed up Doing graduation in Computer Applications. And today I am a website developer, still happy
But now I am targeting Civil Services..lol
I would have liked to have bene a photo journalist. I went to school for it and really enjoyed the classes. Then there was this ethical class that changed my way of thinking. It was a picture in a text book of a mother and child trapped in a burning building. They screamed for help and a reporter saw the whole thing. When no help came, the mother had to make a decision whether to burn in the fire or take a chance and jump. She first dropped her baby from the window while she cried believing that she wouldn't be hurt or at least not too badly and then the mother jumped. How do I know of this story? It was in the textbook.
The reporter saw the whole thing complete with frame by frame pictures. While the mother was deciding how to die, the reporter was deciding to save the mother and child or lose the story of a life time.
I knew from that moment on, I couldn't be associated with such a job that could change a person like that. I am a counselor/social worker. I write and draw on the side.
Mine is really sad: I wanted to be a rock star or a famous writer. I couldn't fathom the idea that I would ever grow up and just be hum drum and normal.
I'm a public servant.
13 year old me would be so disappointed.

Did you laugh and cheer when Mr. trump made fun of the handicapped reporter?Did you also cheer when President Obama was burned in effigy on a cross? Did you cheer for Mr. Huckabee when he agreed with those who said Chelsea Clinton should be run over by a Mac Truck driven by her mother?I did not...
