What is the best home based business for a stay at home mom?
Anything that does not cost money to start. Consulting or writing work well. They can be done remotely, don't require any start up costs if you already have a computer and the Internet. I have clients all over the world and I never leave my home office.
Being able to blog about what you do with your kids, being a parent and saving money and then making money doing it is ideal. So I would have to say being a blogger or writer using SEO can make good money staying home with your kids and having a home based business.
the best home based business is the making of sweets and food and sell it from home
This is a great question. A question I've been trying to find the answer to for years, literally. Still nothing. I am trying out blogging. With blogging it's a matter of having enough quality content to write about and how frequently you can blog. Also, the SEO and Ads.
I tried www.textbroker.com which has an easy format. People post topics and descriptions they need something written on and someone else chooses it and writes it. Simple, but the pay is low. $1-5 per piece depending on what text broker has rated you as. Pay depends on your rating. It's easy to make the money, but almsot not worth the money.
Hi Savanahi, The first thing to do is to find out what you do better than most people. Is there something that you can honestly say that you are an authority on? Or, a service that you can provide much better than some other person or company. Then, see if you can find a business model to monetise that expertise. I know lots of people who work from home as consultants, writers, counsellors, accountants and composers. You can then take a condensed course on how to use social media marketing to grow your business. If this works, you are welcome to send an ex gratia payment as a gift; I am raising funds for a recording.

I became a consultant for a health and wellness company a couple years ago, and it was exactly what I was looking for. I get a great discount on healthy and quality products that I'd be buying regardless. It's also a social outlet for me, which is something that us stay-at-home mom's need desperately! The added bonus is that I've gotten to help others in the process to improve their health and well-being. Now, writing hubs is just another outlet for me to combine two of my passions- writing and helping others to be healthy.
Amway.
Some go Mary Kay or Avon - because women know/like cosmetics, but Amway has cosmetics as well (Miss America uses them). They also have pretty much everything else. You can stock your own house with the supplies, and you have plenty of time to build a team.
I say eBay. If you have the proper tools and the time to invest, the sky can be the limit. The most important thing is a little education and tools. We have an entire website devoted to selling on eBay. Check it out!
