    Is seafood meat?

Especially lobsters, clam chowder, shrimp, octopus (and probably other edibles which does not have spine)?

Sea food is considered meat and it is so healthy and you can never over-eat it or have enough. I guess so...

Interesting question! Meat is defined by Webster dictionary as "the flesh of animals, particularly mammals, as opposed to fowl and fish" (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/meat). Based on that, the answer to your question would be no, seafood does not constitute meat.

Generally speaking though, when people say that they do not eat 'meat', I have noticed that many imply they are vegetarian, i.e. do not eat any flesh, fowl, fish or mammals.

If not, it should be. Seafood tastes better than pig or turkey any day.

Yes.  It breathed oxygen.  It was alive.  It's meat.

Yes, I know.  Catholics give a pass for seafood on Friday's in Lent.  However, technically, it's still meat made from animal proteins.

What would it be, if not meat?  Vegetable? Mineral? Starch? Grain? Fruit? No, I think it has to be meat.

    Yes, it is.
It isn't a swimming vegetable, it can feel pain and has to die a horrible death to be on our (humanities) plate.
    It is a meat.
People who eat it but call themselves vegetarians are really pescatarians.
On a culinary(cooking) level it isn't technically. They view red meat as meat, chicken as poultry, fish as seafood, and wild animal as game.
