What is causing all of these recent Earthquakes and Tsunamis?
Are these events caused by man? Unintentionally or (scarily), intentionally?
Or are these events caused by the Earth going through a natural change?
Will things get much worse than we have seen?
Ok. Well let's see. What usually causes earthquakes and tsunamis? Let me give you a hint, it's not man. Try researching plate tectonics. It is the movement of the plates under our feet that make up the crust of the earth. And they might get worse, then again they might not. We won't know and it is kind of difficult to tell what they will do next.
Thanks, Iburmaster. My fault - I know the scientific explanation. I should have worded my question differently, I suppose. I meant to get more subjective answers, theories, conspiricies etc. I like to believe that there is always something more. Rich
I like that explaination better. Always ask questions, otherwise you never learn.
Yep. I just want to ask more questions on hubpages, both to learn and to meet other hubbers. Curiously though, all my questions tend to be about topics that aren't commonly discussed, but as you say, ask questions, otherwise you never learn.
It only seems like a lot, but the amount of earthquakes hasn't increased by much. Only the increase in human activity disrupted: more buildings + normal earthquake = more devastation, not more earthquakes.
Between 1997 and 2007 (incl), a period of only 11 years, there were 99 earthquakes with magnitude 7.0 or greater : This is more than a six-fold increase on the previous similar period - and is a stark increase on any earlier decades in 20th century t

† Luke 21 †
10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

I seem to have had a slight boost in traffic the last couple of days. Whether it is HP changes (crackdown on the numbers of Amazon capsules etc.) or a Google change to the algo, or a combination of both, I don't know. I hope it continues, however...Anybody else seeing increases?

Do you think California will be getting an earthquake after what happened in Japan?There is obviously a domino effect that happens when these types of natural disasters strike. Do you feel that after the 8.9 Earthquake in Japan that California will get an earthquake to, for lack of a better word,...
