Many people have been incarcerated and died during the prohibition days of the earlier 1900s.
Are those people turning in their graves right now, as we see how much we indulge in our alcohol nowadays (here in the west at least)? Prohibition obviously did not work then.
With that in mind, seeing that dozens and dozens of people are dying weekly in Mexico now and many more are incarcerated all over North America, what will the legacy of this prohibition be? What will people say in a hundred years about the War on Drugs and how many lives it has claimed, with no avail for drugs can by no means be prohibited (because whoever is determined to use a drug, will eventually find that drug)?
Capitalism in amoral America now is explicitly conducive to the new slavery - slave labour in private prisons by far less violent persons than Dick Cheney, who profits directly from all of it.
It's an interesting question, but let me make a prediction - it will be taken down - because it is improperly phrased - the question itself is a statement.
But before your question itself will be incarcerated and executed as the one being a violation or a challenge or whatever the label we put on things that break the rules - let me tell you this - I have no idea what is happening in Mexico and maybe in too many countries (including Russia) and I have no solution (I think even the people who do the research and people who are involved in trying to solve the problem have very limited power) - drug addiction is so powerful that it is precisely the best reason for doing the business - the "customers" - people who buy, they are no longer able to reason - (I am sorry for the choppy style of writing - I guess it shows that I have a splitting head-ache for about a week) - what I am trying to say ---
Prohibition did not work. Prison is not the place to reform people and make out of them "good citizens" - criminal justice that sends people to prison just perpetuates the criminal cycle, nobody gets better in prison and that depends what kind of prison that is - I don't think Mexican prisons are sort of place anyone dreams to be in.
However, I just found one clip on youtube on a juvenile SINGER, yes, the combination is sort of funny - JUVENILE SINGER - Joselito -- and he was "a good boy" and he sang for a couple of decades. Later he became a drug trafficker and a drug dealer and he was incarcerated in Spanish jail. So, later he wrote an autobiography - and he said that JAIL was the best thing that happened to him.
Really, this question is as vast as the universe. I wish... people could be happy without drugs and we would not need JAILS to realize things.
Greetings Kallini,
I never saw this question as large as the universe ... I actually think it is quite specific: drugs, jails and people dying ... We'll have to see about my questions 3 being incarcerated. Haha!! Thank You for the answer. Cheers.

To the best of my knowledge, no one has died or been financially ruined because of Hillary's emails, yet people are coming forward to testify how Trump U defrauded them out of their savings and credit card loans. So why are people still harping about those darn emails?

I personally think it is ridiculous that it's not allowed. But according to polls the majority disagree with me! Surely there must be somebody on here that favors the outlawing of marijuana. Tell me why!

How is it that drug dealers get more prison time than many rapists?

Firstly, I have nothing against Jewish people. It just appears to me that at the very highest political and economic levels in Europe and America, Jewish people are prominent. A state was uniquely created for its people and religiously they are at the root of the West's biblical roots. Has the...
