Do you think Bill Clinton is slamming Obama intentionally?

In recent weeks former President Bill Clinton has been seen and heard putting down and contradicting Obama  and the american economy while praising Mitt Romney's business savy. Why do you think he is doing these things to a fellow Democrat?

Not really sure. It is perhaps a way to pretend that the Democratic party has some wiggle room regarding taxes so they are more appealing to moderates. Maybe it is pure tabloidism-- a fake controversy to get attention. Maybe it is an honest difference of opinions. Whatever the case, I have no doubt that Clinton fully supports Obama.

Maybe it is a Democratic ploy to somehow fool the moderates but I don't think that is the angle here. I do have plenty of doubt about Clinton supporting Obama.

Yes, Bill Clinton is slamming Obama intentionally.

I am not one of Clinton's fans but it is obvious to me that he has "mellowed" since he left office. And because of his "mellowing," he has gained more love and appreciation for his country and a deeper sense of concern for its future.

So now, Clinton is a 65-year-old elder statesman who has gained enough wisdom to know that Obama is unfit to be President and that he poses a number of threats to the future of the U.S.

I appreciate your answer and I wish I could buy into it but I just cannot see Clinton doing anything without promoting his or Hillary's agenda.... Do you feel that they may be aligning themselves for President Hillary in 2016?

Clinton is grabbing headlines to make sure he keeps our attention . He has a talent for it. Always has.

The question is, why does he want to? My answer is, "2016." I don't think he's deliberately undermining Obama, that's just how he can keep his name in the news now. He doesn't like Obama one bit, he thinks he's been a disaster as a president and a party leader, and he couldn't care less about helping him get reelected, so he has no need to stay on the campaign's reservation. He wants Hillary and himself back in the white house next time around, and that's what he's promoting now.

I think you hit the nail on the head! 2016 is what it is all about for the Clintons.
