   Do you check if there is already on a hub on a subject before writing one yourself?
   
   And if there is one do you still go ahead and write your own or write about something else instead?

   No I don't.  There have been times that I enter a title so I will remember the idea and save the hub to write later.  I find out from the related links that there are hubs about the subject, but I make sure that I don't read them.  I don't want to be swayed by what they wrote or be accused of plagiarism.
   
   Whenever I write a hub, I assume there are many other articles on the same subject, and I try to make sure that mine is the best, even before reading the others.

   In my opinion there is no hubs that seam between each other even if the subject is the same.Each hub is like a human being, and we know that don't exist 2 identical human beings.So, each have a chance to perform something better even if it is not as we expect it to be.

   No, I don't check. I write what I want to write. The intent is to write the best we can and outperform all the rest of the 'net.

   No. Someone else might write a hub on the same subject, but they will not be the exact same.

   I usually don't check but I've been trying to. I want to cover aspects of a topic that nobody else has. If anything I find great hubs to link to that support my hub.
   
   I recently wrote a recipe hub about Egg Salad Sandwiches. I searched for other hubs that were the same and discovered that nobody else used the same recipe as I had, so that made me want to write it more. If someone else had the exact same recipe I probably wouldn't have published it.

   Personally, I have started to check.  I didn't use to but I noticed the hubs that I write that are original to hubpages seem to be more original in general and attract more traffic.
