    Does egg donation hurt?

I have never personally donated eggs. I have a friend who did and she said the procedure was a hormonal roller coaster. The actual egg retrival will not "hurt" as this is done transvaginally. It's the preperation that hurts, let me explain. In order to have the best retrival you will be asked to  take fertility drugs that cause multiple ovulation, thus allowing you to make several eggs for retrival.

These drugs can cause quite a hormonal shift since it's an overload of "girly hormones". There are few major side effects that you should familiarize yourself with so you can be aware of things like hyperstimulation (google it). Other then that as long as you can live with the egg donating process (emotionally) then its realativley painless.

    Good luck!

I haven't personally donated eggs either but did look this up after I heard a friend had decided to donate her eggs. I would guess the level of pain or discomfort may be unique to each donor, but I gather the procedure involving the most discomfort is collecting the eggs. This is the info I discovered via Wikipedia ~ The actual harvesting of the donor's eggs is a surgical procedure lasting 20–30 minutes, performed under sedation. A small ultrasound-guided needle is inserted through the vagina to aspirate the follicles in both ovaries, which extracts the eggs. After resting in a recovery room for an hour or two, the donor is released. Most donors resume regular activities by the next day.

I donated eggs more than 10 years ago so my memory might be a bit fuzzy.
The hormone injections do hurt but if you wish to donate then you deal with it. The actual procedure to remove the eggs didn't hurt as I recall. Everyone was very professional as you would expect and very helpful if I had any questions.

Is this relevant to you? You don't give any information about yourself in your profile, not even so much as a photo. Can't tell if you are even a woman.

No personal information in your question. For all the personal interest you have shown you could be asking about chicken eggs bought at the grocery store. So that's the answer I will give.

No. I donate eggs to people upon request. Doesn't hurt a bit.

True. But there are other risks and side effects related to the procedure besides the pain. Thorough understanding before egg donation is necessary. Psychological pain is more than the physical one if there is any.
