   Is Mindcraft really worth buying?
   
   I keep getting hubs about it on my feed. I looked at a few videos and the graphics look about as bad as the original Turok! Those graphics annoyed me to the extent of not playing the game. What makes Minecraft so special? I'm starting to think I will just buy Terraria.

   In all, nothing makes it special. It's a sandbox game where you're limited to cubic structures. If you want to try it, get the PC version that updates every few weeks rather than every few months. At least that's free and has more features. And unless you're going to follow a Minecraft Elitist's instructions, good luck knowing exactly where to start in the game  because there's not one tutorial. And you will need it.
   
   That's not to say Terraria is any better - it's nothing like Minecraft except for the 8-bit craze and digging. That focusses a lot more on RPG elements than sandbox play.

      It didn't look too interesting.  I was just trying to get a second opinion, hopefully from a person who had a similar view to me, which is exactly what you did.  Thanks a lot man.

      I'll do a review on it at some point, which I did earlier during my time on HP. As I say, try find the trial/beta/free version on PC, give it a download and around 12 hours (not consequetive) time with it, then you'll come up with a conclusion ^^

   I don't think so, watch videos on Youtube, Minecraft is not kind of game everyone likes. Instead, go for World of Warcraft or more classic MMO RPGs!

   I just recently purchased the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft. My wife and I are always looking for games to play cooperatively and I had some fun with the free version on the PC. At first I thought I had wasted $20 as my wife and I struggled to build during our first night, watching with fear as the monsters crept ever closer to the island we had chosen for our home. The second night was slightly better. We had walls and a roof; enough to keep us relatively safe. By the time we got our first door, torches and tools, I was hooked. I think the strength of the game is it's feeling of accomplishment, whether it's crafting new tools and weapons, or building a crazy castle that's impossible in the real world. I was worried that the game wouldn't appeal to me because it doesn't have a story and no primary objective outside of survive the night, but after having played it more thoroughly, I can say that I really enjoy it and I look forward to building all the crazy ideas I have in my head. As for the graphics, with games like this, and the ones we see on cell phones, I feel like graphics are less important than they used to be. Granted, there is still an appeal to those really pretty games, but there is a threshold where they all start to look the same. It's the games that survive on their gameplay merits and break convention that are really worth your time and money. I believe minecraft is one of those games.

   Never played minecraft, but it is definitely aimed at a very specific audiance and will not appeal to everyone.
